Hi Everyone, I have just started Phase 1 of the Eurodiet and wondered if there is anybody else doing it. I was trying SW, but it just didn't work for me - too much freedom with foods and portions. Thanks, Marian :)

It is a high protein diet rather than a VLCD. Good Luck though!

The Eurodiet is a VLCD, the calories are between 600 to 800 a day. I've been on it for 3 weeks now and lost 17lbs, which is half way towards my first target. I attend a clinic weekly for weigh in and also general advice & discussion. I'm thoroughly delighted so far and am just concentrating on each individual goal. I've always battled with my weight, in fact since I was 10 years old and each time I'd start yet another diet, my mind would always be set on the ultimate goal of 'normal weight' - which never happened for me. Thanks :)

All VLCDs are a maximum of 800 calories a day - and most are more like 600. Some people in the medical community frown upon this approach but I have to say that I have never felt healthier than for the 10 months that I was in ketosis.

At the moment I am using their meal products which ensure sufficient minerals, vitamins etc. In addition to this, I add lots of green veggies for my home-made soups and also as sides to the meals. It is very expensive I know, but I'm 58 (and a bit) and very obese and seriously need to lose the weight. I am monitored weekly so am happy that all is ok.

Weigh in yesterday, down another 3 lbs! This particular plan expects a higher weight loss than I'm achieving, however my body has never co-operated lol! I'm delighted that I've now lost 20lb in the 28 days.
This week I'm allowed to introduce a chicken breast fillet for one dinner and a salmon fillet/darn for another -- woo hoo :bliss::bliss:

Hi Periwinkle, yes I'm going to an Orsmond Clinic in Dublin. Last Thurs was 6th week and I'm down 25.5lbs. My losses are significantly slower than expected <sigh> - but I've had a serious weight problem since childhood and never achieve great losses regardless of what plan.
What about you, how are you doing?

Eurodiet is not a vlcd, so the threads in the VLCD section have been moved to 'All other diets'

It is a vlcd - I'm only on 600 calories and it is medically supervised. The clinics uses eurodiet products in the programme.

According to their website phase 1 is 800kcals and other phases higher. Eurodiet say themselves that its not a VLCD. 800 makes it outwith the VLCD range and if people are only on a low cal intake for a couple of weeks it definitely then falls out the VLCD range. Its going to cause a lot of confusion if some people post on the VLCD section and others dont

If youre doing it medically supervised then thats realistically NOT how most people will be following it, theyll be buying it and following it as per the Eurodiet website

Okie dokie - I buy the products in the clinic. I didn't even realise they were available for sale online :)

I'm based in Ireland - I think they have a different sales pitch over here What is Eurodiet They promote themselves as a vlcd option here. Sorry I should have checked if they are presented as something else in the UK/Europe. I won't mention any of their products in VLCD forum again. Sorry.

Fair play! Good on ya :) That's nearly 2 stone! I could only dream of that in 6 weeks. When I started on Friday I weighed 13st13lb and when I weighed myself this morning (bold I know) I was 7 pounds down.

What products are you liking so far? I'm finding a lot of them really gross :( The coca cream pot thing is EVIL
