Exante and VLCD newbie

good morning and happy new year all.
I've decided that this will be my year and I will finally loose the weight I've been longing to loose for as long as I can remember! I have just over 3 stone I want to loose and, seeing as i'm too lazy to spend my life counting calories, I've decided to kick start with a VLCD. I was going to go for the Cambridge diet but nosying through this forum I found exante and it seems much more up my street as im not keen on having to have a diet consultant. and its cheaper. woohoo. so I've just placed my first order and will start as soon as it arrives. Just wanted to say a big hello to you all x

Hello petal4monkey and welcome to the site! You will find lots of encouragement on here especially when you go through the highs and lows on a VLCD. Get through the first couple of days (as they are the worst in my opinon) possibly headaches hunger and tiredness but when ketosis arrives whoo whoo energy determination and not worrying about food. And after your first weigh in you will be congratulating yourself for sticking with it. Good luck!

Thank you I'm really excited to start just a bit worried about when to start. Obviously as soon as it arrives would be great but I have my daughters birthday this Saturday. Is it best to start then cheat on day 4 then start again, or just wait until Sunday?
I've done slim fast before so used to the idea of shakes, but I am worried about how I'm going to cope without my morning cuppa!

If you know you won't be good on Saturday or low carb isn't possible then I would leave it till Sunday and maybe low carb until then so your body is preparing.

I would wait until Sunday. Ketosis isn't great to get into so give yourself a good run without risk of coming out. Unless you're prepared to eat to stay in on her birthday?

You can have tea just avoid milk. Although lots of people on here have tea with milk but I think it's all about your own body...

Either way best of luck for the diet! It'll totally be worth it :)

Thank you for the advice ladies I've decided I'm going to start asap but on the working plan and just have no carbs on Saturday. So it means no birthday cake but I'm sure that's not the end of the world. I then get to repeat it all again the following Saturday for my sons birthday.

Life never stops does it! This has to be the hardest diet for socialising on!
