Ok I joined slimming world in November and just fluctuated between the same weight bracket and did not get below 12st 6. Then I tried eating healthy on my own and exercising and lost nothing. This week I've tried tesco ultra slim meal replacement, had a sneaky weigh this morning and I'm still 12st 6 so I've lost nothing again.

This is nearly 2 months at that weight and I'm losing nothing, I've had enough.

You seem to have tried really hard and I'm sorry you are having no success. Have you thought about seeing your GP to check whether there is anything else holding you back? X

Hi Welshgirl, You do seem to be swapping about and not allowing time for your body to settle into a pattern of things before you move on to something else.
I did find myself that I had to persevere for some few weeks as I STS and then I only lost a pound for most of the time. I do find that bread, which I don't want to cut out completely, is an item which will make my weight fluctuate according to how much I eat. Perhaps there is a particular substance that is having this effect on your ability to lose weight.
Stick to it for at the very least six weeks before you decide on another change, I'm sure that it will work but you have to be patient and determined.

    All the best to you....:)

I agree that you need to stick to something for at least a couple of weeks before writing it off and chopping and changing between diets can seriously mess up your metabolism. We all have weeks when we STS or even gain for no reason we can see but you just have to grit your teeth and keep going.

I understand that now and that may be the issue in my case, but it still doesn't explain how when I stuck to slimming world for 12 weeks I didn't lose weight.

I don't know what to do; this tesco ultra slim won't be sustainable next week due to cost and the fact I have no ££. I'm sorry guys, I'm just on a bit of a downer today.

Welsh Girl - I am struggling to at the moment - very badly. I am putting on. I want to start a fresh. How about we do it together - be strong with one another. Think of it as a life change not just for the sake of loosing weight.

Ideally I have two stone to loose - probably more now I have put on the same few pounds over and over again. This time I have to do it. Healthy eating and exercise. We can do this.

I have about the same to lose, maybe I'll increase what I'm eating as looking at the calorie calculator online I was under eating by a number of calories if I was exercising as well. If I am doing 3-5 days of moderate exercise I needed to be eating 2461 calories a day but I was only eating between 1200 and 1400 so I think maybe my body was thinking it was starving.

Aw Welshgirl, hope you're ok. Maybe stick to the healthy eating and take up walking instead of heavy exercise & get some rest this week. Do you think maybe you need an Iron or vitamin supplement?..maybe you should see the doctor on Monday and see what they say. I can't understand it because I've been reading your diary and you have been eating so well. Please don't give up..you'll feel worse next week if you do. Maybe you should note down your measurements tonight and use them as a guideline each week, rather than the weighing scales?

I'm not quite sure! lol since xmas i have done SW, WW and just eating normally. at the begining of the march I'd got to 11 13 which meant i was 11 something for the first time since october 2009. then this last month i've gone back up rapidly to 12 7. its so frustrating that it is so easy to put on but hard to lose

i go to zumba once a week, do a medium intensity 30min work out twice a week, ride (horse) about 4 times a week and am also currently training for the race for life too - i think the exercise is increasing my appetite but obviously my portion sizes must be too big. *sigh*

just looking at your stats miss sunshine, you're only a couple of inches shorter than me but 2 and a half stone less!!!!! can i ask (dont mind if you dont want to answer) what dress size you are? I am a 14 now and figure at 11.5 I could be a size 12

    thanks :)

Welcome everyone, of course we can all help each other. I'm going to be doing what I can with what I have in the house as I literally have no money til a week Friday but we'll see how it goes.

Better I think; I stopped the replacement shakes as they were too expensive and I didn't enjoy just having a shake at lunch. Plus I read the back and the sugar and carbs were really high.

At the moment I'm just doing healthy lifestyle like before but sticking at it long term instead of looking for the weight loss all the time and starting to focus on the good it's doing my body inside.

It's hard at times as I know I need to change my whole relationship with food. I do love food, flavours and different cuisines and I'll never stop loving the experience of eating in restaurants because I do love that. It's learning that food doesn't help solve problems or emotions I'm feeling and I'm looking for other ways of dealing with those emotions rather than looking in the fridge.

Well said, Welshgirl, it is a long term situation and sometimes we can tend to forget that.
Getting our emotions under control is a big factor in gaining weight control too.
Keep at it you are doing well....:)

p.s. Need to change your Ticker...
