Fao Runners...looking for a beginners marathon plan...

I'm signing up for the Great North Run in September next year. It's obviously a shorter distance and more time to prepare, but it would be good to know how you get on with the training plan :)

i tried to follow a programme for my first one, it just didn't work for me. all I do now is just make it up as I go along, longest training run I will do is 26.2 (I use other marathons as training) and other races are all training

that one is flat as a pancake too. try finding a 20 mile race at some point, use it as training.
