fatty vs thinny :)

    hi everyone im not new to minimins but i am sort of new to calorie counting. i have calorie counted in the past here and there but have mainly done slimming world. i have become a little bored and have messed around on slimming world so im hoping counting calories will be easier as most products have calories on them.

    :4633:i know its very early saturday morning (01:43 :eek:) but i will be weighing myself when i would normally get up on a saturday.

    so how is everyone doing? and how do you find calorie counting?

    Personally I've found calorie counting really easy. It's straight mathematics basically...which means it works for me because it's so simple in my head:

    My weight = food in - calories burned
    So if food in is lower than calories burned, weight goes down!


    Plus it's not restrictive like other diets. You can really eat whatever you want as long as you stay within your allowance.

    Have your worked out how many calories you should eat to get to a healthy weight? These sites might help:

    hi everyone and a big thankyou for my very warming welcome. :D

    today was DAY 1. and its not been a bad day apart from me weighing in. my starting point is 13st 2lb. my calorie allowance per day to lose 1 lb per week is 1640 (worked out by myfitnesspal) my aim also is to work out 4 times per week. here is my food diary-
    breakfast - 600 ml skimmed milk, 35g oats, 60g blueberries, 1 medium banana = 478 cals
    lunch - 2 x weight watchers thick bread, 2 slices of beef and a small salad made into a buttie, 1 danone snack pot yogurt, 1 grapefruit = 373 cals

    then this aftenoon i went to the gym and walked around the shops etc 700 cals burnt off
    dinner - 200g steak with a large salad, and weight watchers desert = 806 cals
    snacks- 200g strawberries, 200g grapes = 193

    i have eaten 210 cals more than i should so that taken away from my exercise calories leaves me with 500 cals extra to lose more weight :D

    there was a few times i felt peckish but this was down to puting other things first before me having my dinner so on the whole its been a great day and i am very pleased with myself im just hoping tomorrow goes the same way. i will pop round and have a look at peoples diaries now to see whats what and who is who ;) take care and i hope everyones day has gone as good as mine :thankyou:

    DAY 2.
    hello everybody i hope you all have had a lovely sunday even though its been a chilly one :smiley1842:
    well my day 2 has gone really well like yesterday so here is what i have got upto today -
    breakfast - 600ml skimmed milk, 2 weetabix, 60g blueberries, 1 medium banana = 480 cal
    lunch - ww tuna mayo with sweetcorn, 45g pasta, salad,and a chomp bar

    after this had settled i went to the gym = 977 cals burnt off

    after the gym i had 187g low fat natural yogurt and half a tin of tropical fruit and a protein bar = 939 cals (inc lunch)

    dinner - 3 skinny lizzie sausages, 160g veg, 1 cup of mashed potato and 70ml gravy = 579

    snacks - ww desert and 200g strawberries = 209

    i am hoping to lose 1 lb per week but with my extra exercise im hoping for 1.5 lb per week. x

    DAY 3.
    :4633: hiya everyone i carnt believe its monday morning already :( i have just finished 20 mins stepping and about 20 mins zumba = 400 cals burnt off
    now im ready to start my day! i will post my food as i decide what im having.

    breakfast - 2 medium eggs, 600ml skimmed milk, 3 mushrooms and a medium banana = 542 cals
    lunch - 200g beef, 2 oxo cubes, half a small swede, 1 carrot, 1 leek 1 apple, 1 pear, 2 finger caramel kit kat and a apricot yogurt bar = 976 cals
    dinner - 150g chicken, 1pk blue dragon chow mein sauce, 1 pepper, 1/3 courgette, 70g brown rice uncooked and for pudding it will be danone snack pot yogurt with a mango = 658 cals
    snacks - 2 x flumps = 60 cals

    the exercise i did this morning i have eaten back as it was supposed to have been my rest day from the gym. im still on track and thats the main thing :D

    Well done, you are doing fantastic with your exercise, I really struggle to motivate myself to get to gym!!

    day 4

    hello everyone :wave_cry: how are you all? and oh my god hasnt it been cold today! its been so hard all day i have picked and picked and been to the gym and walking and working and i think i have just about saved 440 cals from my exercise toward extra weight loss. my calories are set to lose 1lb per week but im trying to aim for 1.5lb this week. i need 1750 cals spare from my half a pound loss im upto 1310 only 440 more to go :D
