First time Newbie - Hii :)

Hi :)

My names Katie, i'm 20 and this is my first time attempt at losing weight.

I'm hoping to be doing it through good old fashioned healthy diet and exercise as being a student i can't afford things like lighter life etc and i'm not too sure what the options are with regards to the doctors - i'm a bit too shy to ask really :$

So i'm about 5'9 and a bit (which is important ;)) and unfortunately tip the scales at around 130kg. There are a few reasons I would like to lose weight, the main one being that i'm a forensic science student, and I am hoping to go into a job which will involve going out to places which will be suited to someone in good physical shape, the other reason is that i'm going on my first ever holiday abroad next year (02/06/2012) and I would like to look decent in swimwear as at the moment I am never out of jeans or leggings.
I'm about a size 20 (sometimes 18, sometimes 22 as I carry weight mainly in my stomach area) and I would love to lose about 8 stone in a year and be about a size 12/14.

I'm hoping to meet some nice people who can help me on this journey as its one i've never embarked on before and i'm a little nervous!

Take care all
Katie xxxx

Hi Katie!

Well done on biting the bullet. Like you, I had around 120lbs to lose and have lost 16lbs so far. It's coming off slowly but surely.

Good luck on your weight loss journey. Don't forget to let us know how you get on

Good Luck!!! I'm just starting today - can't wait to see my first weight loss! Sick of seeing the scales rising! So depressing!
I'm turning 34 soon and i'd love to be at my goal weight by my 35th birthday. Gives me a bit over a year to lose 75lb. I'm gonna try my butt off!
