I would probably make an educated guess based on their similairities to other veg. Mooli is a white root isn't it? A bit like a carrot looks wise only quite peppery? Could be completely wrong there!

Don't know about speed or superspeed but all veg and fruit, foreign or otherwise, will be free.

As for superfree, unless it is a starchy veg then it'll be superfree too.

Thats cos its not fruit or veg. Its devils food. YUK!
Does that make me the devil then *ponders* cos I could live on the things, if they weren't uber bad SW wise that is! Can't remember the last time I did have avocado actually... used to eat tons of them at one point.

*Peers at her fat belly* so THAT'S where you came from! Must have been the avocados, couldn't possibly be the wine ;)

They're all free as they're veggies AFAIK? Not sure about tamarind as I think that's a fruit? I've only had it ready-processed so its always had syns and tbh I wouldnt know what to do with it fresh! :D

Dudhi, kerala and tindora are squash/gourds so I don't know why they wouldn't be free. Mooli is a radish so the same. Karela is listed actually, Free. (I swear I saw mooli listed too but cant find it now... maybe it was under another name? ) Mmm Ive used mooli loads of times as my 1/3 SF with a good old curry & rice, its worked for me :D

Starchy stuff such as eddoes I've just been assuming are similar to potatoes/yams etc? Ive used them as Green or EE only, but I dont know if that's right?

Yow cassava is listed - at 7 syns per 100g! Ouch! Plantain and yams are on the list already alongside sweetcorn and parsnip ie Green/EE only.
(Mm they seem to have made a mess of yams actually, as theyre listed as Free on EE but if you search for "yam" you get "Yams, raw/cooked without fat, 100g ½ " )

Thats about all you can get from my Tesco. Anyone else got Interesting Stuff we can try? :)

If you look up the unusual item on something like Wikipedia, you can get an idea of what sort of fruit/vegetable it is.

For instance, mooli (also called daikon) is in fact a type of radish, and radishes are superfree. Also, Wikipedia usually gives nutritional information.
