Carole wonders about a microwave omelette maker - any feedback?

The table and chairs used to be a Yukky dark brown mahogany but i Upcycled them :)

Oooh isn't he a clever boy! And aren't you clever too - I love your table and chairs - and the stencilling is fab!

I'm very proud of my kitchen too - renting in London usually means a kitchen the size of a shoebox and when I bought, I had the chance to double the size of my kitchen - so I did and I love it! Will take pics tomorrow once I've cleaned up :)

Lovely kitchen :)

And I love all those gadgets :)

I love my halogen oven and I use it every single day usually. Tonight I am going to make some lovely soup in my soupmaker for my lunches at work next week. My friend bought me a nifty cup that you take soup in and warm up in the microwave that has a wee vent in the top. I am such a sucker for gadgets I got the noodle bowl too! lol :giggle:

We have one of those microwave omelette makers that is really just a bit of plastic in a handy shape and my OH uses it all the time (his omelettes aren't that slimming world friendly based on the amount of cheese) but if he can use it must be good because he is not really a cook. (I've never tried it as I can't really eat egg unless is properly disguised in something or just yolk which has all the fat)

I have one of those soup cups too but I just make soup by chucking all the ingredients in the slow cooker and this whiz it with a hand blender normally.

I have one of those steamers that is just a three tier pan that you use on the hob and get quite a lot of use out of that but not enough to justify buying one of the gadget kinds.

I've been looking at soup cups to take home made to work - but some reviews of the Sistema one say they leak - what brands do you guys have?

Steamers - I have a big round microwave steamer with vented lid that is fabulous, I bought it from the pound shop and use it all the time.

Oh a microwave steamer sounds good too. I use tons of frozen veg you can just microwave.

I have a sistema cup and it has never leaked on me but I always make sure the vent bit is on closed and wedge it in my bag so it's upright as while the side seals are really good the vent bit means it probably would leak if on it's side or anything.

I have the sister a one too and just try and keep it upright and it has never leaked :)

I love tupperware! I can't help looking at it in the shops lol. I also love the food thermos things so you can take out meals. Great for a autumn or winter picnic somewhere.

Any of you got a fit bit. Are they worth it?

I have a fitbit flex - I do like it and like aiming for my step goal and thinks it's actually good to monitor my sleep as i have mild sleep apnea but I got mine off ebay for £25 and I would never have paid the £80 rrp. I think you can get them fro about £50/60 now if not going for the latest model but that still seems pricey to me.

I have a fair few pieces of the Sistema stuff including the rice maker, soup cups, noodle bowl and veggie steamer - its great quality and mine has never leaked and I have been using it now for a couple of years. :D

I have a fitbit flex and love it. So much better than fiddling around with pedometer apps on my phone, and it lets me and my sister keep each other inspired from halfway across the world with the challenges we can do together. My advice would be to try to find one on offer, but do get one from the company as they have excellent customer support if anything goes wrong. My friend lost hers because the bracelet came unclasped, and they replaced it free of charge.

That's good to know thanks. I am tempted but not sure if I would be motivated by it or not. Have had a pedometer before and it didn't really.

I went to John Lewis today to see if I could get a ceramic wok but the only one that had was very expensive but I bought a ceramic knife - its going on my list of lovely gadgets. Chopped all my cajun soup ingredients in double quick time!

Maybe we can keep an eye out and if they come up at a good price will post here to help each other out. I just recently bought a wok as I want to get back into eating stir fry but it is a commercial one so not non stick or ceramic. I am hoping fry light and seasoning it will help :D As I have a gadget fixation I made an agreement with my other half that if one thing came in another went, otherwise our house will be 'stuffed to the gunnels' and having had a radical de-clutter last year - I don't want to go back there. XX

have a look on 'group on', they regularly have ceramic pan sets on offer. if you sign up they will email you with the offers. I got a fab multi coloured knife set from them with 10 knives for £20 and they are really good quality, very very sharp! x
