Giving blood

Can anyone tell me if it's ok to give blood on CD? I'm on the 810 plan and am not in ketosis. Does that make a difference?

Hi,

Advice from CD:

Q: Is it all right to continue the ‘Sole Source’
programme if giving blood?

A: The ‘Sole Source’ programme should not be followed for
one week preceding blood donation and for one week
after. In fact, a centre will refuse to take blood if
they know the donor is on a very low calorie diet,
because blood viscosity and volume are affected by the
‘Sole Source’ programme.

oh pants!!! i've got two days lined up at work where i am meant to be giving blood in July...

i didn't even think of the diet, my main concern was cos i am using steriod cream on my skin... well it may sound harsh, but i ain't coming off the diet to give blood...

will just have to do it more when i finish xxx

Its not harsh at all, you can give nice healthy blood again once you have finished your weight loss
