    Hey everyone,
I joined slimming world way back in Jan last year and was pretty successful 2.5 stone off by May and I was well chuffed. But then our leader decided that there was not enough of us attending the group in the evening and she left to make another group closer to the town. I left with her and joined the new group but it was an on off thing. The group was huge and I hated it, sometimes it would take over an hour for all the weigh in's you can imagine how long it took for image therapy etc! I have 2 small boys and to be honest it wasnt working for me . . . I gave up.
I've gone way over the top now. I've even started to bake, make cheese cakes and you name it. I mean its not as if with 2.5 off that I could do this as I have another 4 at least to go!!!

Anyways I have decided to draw a line under the sand and bite the bullet. I got on the scales and I really could cry I have over a stone back on and I'm so ashamed.

    So what to do . . .

    Do I :
a - Go back to that class
b - Wise up I know what the plan is just do it
c - Use Minimins and other online support groups to do slimming world on my own?

What do you guys think . . .

Option D is wiring my mouth shut but thats a little extreme . . .

obviously everyone will tell you the best optino is to go to class, but i went to class about two years ago but i got fed up of paying all the time jus to get weighed and it took too long, i have started slimming world agaim 4 weeks ago and i am doing it on my own, thanks to this website as there are so many people that help you out and are so friendly and any questions you have to ask anyone will help you.
its your choice as the different way suit different people

I don't go to class as I'm overseas. I'm doing just fine. Minimins is my class. But I'm not really a class person. Depends on ur personality. If I were u and decided not to go to class, I would still make myself accountable. Join a weigh in group. I'm in a Wed one on here but there r groups for every day of the week! If u find That Going it alone is too hard u can always go back to class!

Is there not another class somewhere near you could go to instead?
Big classes are annoying I know that so if there isn't anywhere nearby then I would suggest minimins as the best alternative.
I was a member of SW online but didn't find the website that great- it was like something from the 80's ( correct me if it has been updated)
I am going back to group tomo as I just find this works best for me.

Good luck an I hope you find something :)

hiyer, good luck for you're journey, you've got to do what's comfortable for you. I diecded to go back to class, as i need that support at the mo, the classs i'm now at is lovely, and we talk online to give each other support, agree with the post about the website, it's so slow and not very useful.:D

I think it would depend upon wether you can be happy with just the minimins support or need people to talk to and to form relationships face to face.

I do the plan on my own but have all of the books from joining a few years ago. There are three of us at work all on the plan together and all doing it on our own so with their support and the support on here I am doing just fine. Do you have a friend who you could link up with? I think without minimins I would struggle as I find lots of recipes and syn values on here which I couldn't do otherwise. Good luck with your journey.

I think that at the end of the day you are the only one who can answer the question of class or go it alone, it depends on your personality. For me personally, I HAVE to go to class. Yes, it is a fiver a week but the thought of someone else weighing me and writing it in black and white motivates me like nothing else. On my own it's all to easy to get off track, especially when I'm the only one there who sees the scales.

I wish I could do it alone but the way I look at it is it's money well spent if I loose all the weight :)
