Going it alone...

#1
Hiya everyone :)

I don't know if anyone else here has been in this spot of bother...

My boyfriend and I started the diet together and all was fine dandy and grand... but only 2 weeks in he gave up and now i am finding it really hard to do it by myself.

Last night we went to the pub to have a few games of pool and i stuck to the diet cokes... he had 3 beers... which wasn't too bad...

However... the function room downstairs was having a christening and they brought up a whole of of extra food.... the worst kind as well... my fave... party food.

He munched his was through wee nibbles few sarnies... some pizza etc etc and i thought i was being strong and managed to not have any.

However i found my self becoming really irritable and jealous... which is disgusting considering its only bloody food... my moodswings around this diet are getting so silly now.

I am living with him and his family at the mo... so dont have any control over what shopping is bought as i dont drive and the shop is quite far away.

At the beginning we shopped together but now he has given up i am really struggling...

don't really know what i want from this thread... but i guess just a kind word or 2 would be fab :)

Sorry to moan...

Thanks xxxxx

I get exactly the same way when my other half eats pizza and ice cream in front of me! It's the food addict in me getting jealous and I have to try really hard to reign it in. But at the end of the day I'm the one doing SW not him and you have to accept that he's given up and you're on your own in this except for us minimins that is!
As for shopping, could you not shop online with Tesco or Asda? That way you can be more in control of what you're eating and then you'll feel better about all this. And you're doing brilliantly as it is, don't let anything stop you from achieving your goal!

It's insane when you think about it because it is only food and everyone has to eat, but when you're going through it it's like the most intense sense of unfairness! How dare they be able to eat it and not gain a million zillion lbs! I get so jealous when my sister's girlf can eat anything she wants and still pop out a 2lb loss! Concentrate on your food, exercise and your weight loss journey. Enjoy what you can eat and not what you can't.
I'm lucky in that I buy all my own food and I'm totally in control of everything even though I still live at home with my parents. I have my own shelves in the freezer and the fridge too lol.

Why dont you offer to cook for the whole family then you can monitor whats being made and the ingredients. Plus they will think you are just being lovely by cooking for them, when in reality it's your cunning plan mwuh ha ha ha ha!!

I'm sure you can rustle up an easy red day from anybody's shopping.

It's not a mad thing at all. As a nation we revolve around food, christenings, weddings, parties all involve food, We cook for people we love to show our love and affection for them, how many times have you made or received a cake?

How many times have you bought or been given chocs as a gift?

It's entirely natural to equate food and lack of it with changes in mood. It doesn't make you a bad person it makes you human.

Just think about why you are doing this SW plan. At the end of the day the food is there if you want it, but the scales may not be kind ;)

Just remember the food will ALWAYS be there when you are at target, looking slinky.

Hang in there :D

I find dieting so hard! My boyfriend is really supportive nearly all of the time, and pretty much just eats what I eat,... but when he wants a treat it's hard for me to resist! Luckily I do the shopping so I have been only ordering things I am allowed... But now I get annoyed with him eating all my low fat or low sugar treats as they're expensive! Get your own! hehe. Well done and keep at it! Stick with us chubby chickens and you'll be ok ;) xx

Just for the record, I was calling myself a chubby chicken not you! :) Didn't want to offend! haha

My hubby follows the plans but he often doesn't want what I give him so he gets something else.
The way I look at it is that I "diet" for myself and if he wants to lose weight then he needs to do it for himself.
It's up to your fella hun.
Just look after yourself :)

I know its hard but you can do it. I have people around me that eat what they want and it doesnt affect them. Think about it this way though, your insides are much healthier than thiers with all the crap they eat.
Come on here when you get down, theres always someone to help x
Couldn't agree more :)

Most of my friends are tiny, even a ten is fat for them! :( But when I reach my goal weight it'll be through healthy diet and exercise... none of them exercise, or think about all the alcohol and other rubbish they put in to their bodies!

I get really jealous of my partner sometimes as he can lose weight simply by reducing the amount of crap he eats to about 2 chocolate bars a day.....I worked out his syn consumption once and it was ridiculous yet I am the obese one and he is merely overweight.

When I find myself going all green eyed monster I find it helps if I remind myself that is mother natures fault and not his lol.

Its up to us all as individuals!! I have a friend who constantly sabotages my weght loss, turning up with cakes and biscuits, suggesting takeaways!!

It all stems back to jealousy, she wants someone else to feel as fat and unattractive as her, it sort of excuses her unhealthy lifestyle and makes it all OK. yet as soon as she loses weight, shes the first to gloat and tell people She is lighter than me!! Its like she couldn't give a crap that she's hindering my loss - and not being supportive.

I've made the decision (not to cut her out completely), but to separate her fromy my eating habits, not go out to dinner, not to gobto her house when hungry, if she invites me, I now just say, ooh I've already eaten!!

Its all about quashing the jealousy (although we all get it!!) and feeling somewhat sorry for these people who aren't in control of their diet and their health!!

Well done for staying strong chick!!

:) Rhi Bro :)
