Hi. I'm hoping to marry this year and been looking at Gretna weddings. Anyone had one? X
Gretna green weddings

I got married at Gretna Green on 5th November 2005. It was fantastic. Expensive, but fantastic.
We took 21 people and went for a candle lit ceremony and paid for the seperate room for the reception. We had out own bar and we then got brerakfast in the seperate room the next morning. I think it's worth paying the extra as the weddings we saw that used the main hall for their reception looked a bit like a "cattle market". There were 4 other weddings in there and they were all in the same room with their cakes at the end of each table which looked pretty, but when they were giving their wedding speech, the rest of the room was so noisy and it just was not very personal. I would also advise adding on the "piper". Worth every penny.
We also got fireworks later on the night. Loved it. Best bit was, we also got to have another "wedding" the weekend after with a big party.
