Hair loss

Hi ya, I have been on a low cal diet since January, and have lost about 2 stones, which is great but the last week or two I have noticed that I am shedding loads of hair, and it's really freaking me out !!!!

My hair looks thinner and lank and I am getting really stressed which is probably making it worse!!!

Has this happened to anyone else? I eat loads of veg and protein, but not much fat/oil.

I would really appreciate any advice.

That sounds low, the minimun should be 1200 or over. Try to up your calorie intake a few hundred calories by adding some healthy fats. Try to make that effort, the weight my decrease a bit slower but your health will thank you for that :)

That sounds like a good idea, I am almost at target anyway, so it won't hurt. I have also gone and bought some multivitamins and minerals.

Aww, congrats for being almost at target. There you have one more reason to start increasing your calorie intake and make a smooth transition to maintenance;)

Get into a health shop! Holland an Barrett do an amazing supplement but I can't for life of me remember what it is! My friend used this a few years ago. She dropped a LOT of weight thru stress and her hair came out in patches!! But three months of supplements and it was growing back in really well and in beautiful condition.
