Hi all, I started slimming world last Wednesday and up until then ate a lot of chocolate and other sweet things:(. Since starting on the extra easy food optimising I have been getting headaches in the afternoon every day (5 days now). Is this chocolate withdrawl :silly:. I am drinking well and am eating lots of free foods.

I suffered a bit but mine was caffine withdrawl as I do not get as many coffee's a day with only 350ml of skimmed milk. I am sure your headaches will pass just keep at the diet

I had my first food optimising day tuesday. I had a headache last night and i can feel it coming back right now. I think you have to think of it like a detox. I stuffed myself silly with chocolate last week. I've got some bentonite drinking clay off the internet that is supposed to help draw out toxins in the body x

Our bodies get used to things and we do suffer withdrawl sumptoms.
I too am suffering headaches and did so last time i cut out caffine and chocolate.
It DOES pass, when we say we drink plenty of water many of us... me included dont drink enough water. Chamomile tea is good, takes a bit to get used to, i try and drink 2 cups a day.

Robsterswife - have you had your blood pressure checked? I suffered from bad headaches for months and it was down to high bp.

Pinkyjay - definitely sugar withdrawl symptoms. Lots of water and they will pass!!

Have to agree with the others...definitely a withdrawl Hun! I stopped diet pop drinks (never drank a full sugered drink in my life) and got migraines, shakes and mood swings that were really bad! They do go, as the others have suggested, try drinking plenty of water as this helps with dehydration.

How odd- i've now realised that my headaches start about an hour after i start drinking my sugar free squash! Think I'll try the fruit or herbal tea instead.
