Hello everyone, I'm new here and 1 1/2 week on Exante

I was wondering if it is going the right way when I wake up hungry in the night.

Any tips on how to keep yourself going and not to give up?

Hi Jay! I have my last shake literally going to bed for that very reason! Don't do a breakfast shake, just coffee, and have a lunch, dinner and supper shake/soup instead. Failing that a glass of water by the bed might help? Good luck - are you seeing good losses? That's what keeps me going! :)
 
Hi - I'm on day 3 today. Have to say that i've not felt hungry so far. Are you drinking enough water?

Hi jennebel, I haven't been back for a while. Yes my first week went easy, it just went down the drain when I went on this party and wasn't strong enough to say NO to the food served there. I have to fight it more and be stronger because I want it but temptation seems to get the better of me. But it's feels good to know I can come here and talk to all of you. Thank you for your reply. I'll try to check in more often.

I'll give the shake shortly before bed a try. And the water next to my bed yes I've been doing that with some red bush tea when I feel hungry. I just need what I've found here, people who share the same as me. Thank you for your advice. I'll check back more often to keep on having the support boost and the extra push to keep going and not to cave.

Well he had a packet of those strawberry laces in his drawer and i just woke in the night with such a desperation for sugar i scoffed the 90g pack in one sniff!! I think i underestimated this diet! Its harder than i thought!:(

I know right it can be challenging I think we just need to get back here anytime there is a temptation. Let's try to keep each other from falling of the wagon until we've reach our goal. I'm trying hard to get into the state of mind I was in in my first week, before I messed it up on this party.

Has anyone sat through a dinner out yet with a glass of water. My partner has agreed to go on a big get together at the local pub tomorrow night and I am dreading it. One because of the temptation I don't think he has a clue how hard it is and two because if all the questions. Any advice ?

This is the ultimate test for us, having to go to a dinner invite, party, get together etc... Name it it's a challenge. I went dreadfully wrong when I was invited to a party, I caved under the pressure and ate while on my vlc. The thing is it wasn't because they were stuffing food down my throat or holding a food gun:) ( keeping it mellow) to my head screaming "EAT!" Nope it was all me not being strong enough and being embarrassed of my weight and not wanting them to now I'm dieting and having to stay away from my temptation. So I ate.

Had I told them upfront I'm dieting and I can't really eat they might have helped me in some kind a way I guess.
So what I'm actually trying to say before I derail even more than I anticipated when I started writing this... Is let the people around you know that you are dieting, it is quite a hard thing to do indeed, but if we don't inform them about it they will not know. They might think that you can skip a day, not knowing that skipping one day might take you a week, others way longer or never to get back on track. I assigned my husband to be my Don't eat anything watchdog lol, he's doing such a good job he's getting on my nerves lol but we all need the support and the ones close to us need to know so they can help us sail through it easier!

Sohoo you need to let your partner in on the difficulty of dieting and think of you and how much healthier you'll be after you have pulled through.All we need then is to maintain our weight.
Believe me when I say I'm writing this for you as well as for myself.

I hope all will go well and you'll be stronger than i was. Don't forget it took strength to get us started now we have to hold on to it to get it going! I'm trying and being here helps a lot.
O one more thing you could shake your soup and drink that while you're at the get together (just a thought that popped up)

All I seem to see around me are skinny gorgeous women and I know that's ridiculous. I am partly angry at him cos he makes it sound so easy, just sit there don't eat or drink wine and just watch us in his words. I will get through it and report back Sunday. Thanks again :))
 
What about a 'migraine' or some other mystery illness just before you leave, so that your partner goes alone? I've done a barbecue on TFR but that was easier I think because it involved milling around - sitting in one chair all night with everyone looking at you not eating is going to be tricky. Good luck!

I have made a promise to myself that until i get to goal i am forgoing ALL social eating and drinking occasions with no exceptions! I want to succeed more than anything so am prepared for 3 or 4 mths of wkends doing anything but socialising! My partner knows the score and wont even try to coax me out! Maybe u should just tell him its too much and he can go alone. Put yourself first and remember it wont always be this way its just for now. Invest and sacrafice in short term. Thats why im telling myself like lol :)

You can do it! We've got your back! It helps me really a lot to come here, I'm so happy I found this forum. It keeps me in check. So just keep your head up high and show yourself, you can do it , cause were doing it first and foremost for ourselves right! Do you have the Exante tracker app, where you could put in your target and weigh once a week to see your progress? They have the best motivating quotes I just love it... If you don't check it out! I'll be waitin for the updates Sunday.

Yes, putting yourself first is what will make this work! Make your loved ones know what it's all about and together you'll get to the best conclusions how to go about socialising,make sure you stay strong and keep going! Their support it mighty important too let them know...

THAT'S IT! we should totally do that lol... Don't tempt me, I might just do it. We'll be on our target weight in no time. Probably saying afterwards to each other " let's go another round!" Lol
Until then let's just keep each other going this way! It's a pity this app doesn't alert you when there is a new message. I always have to come check it myself. And with busy fam life I sometimes forget till I have a free moment. But it's always a delight to see another message...

Ahh definatley Jay i am with ya 100%! I havent normally got a clue what section i have left a message soi have to go in and check a few! Haha i will get to grips with this forum!

Well its that time were i would normally be piggin out infront of the box so instead early night should do the trick. Keep going Jay and make sure you keep me updated on your WI! X:)
 
Morning ladies, turned out I was ok last night was not too bad at all. Today however is another matter on my own all day so must keep fighting the little demon on my shoulder and not get bored. Have a great day xxx
