Hey!! I'm just a tad overweight ? but it needs to go. I'm miserable! I have a good life and should be living it to the fullest, not hiding away at home.

Today is day 1 of my restart. Going to use up some slim fast shakes I have lying around. Once I'm done with them I may consider going back to CC. I think I need to shift some lbs quickly for motivation!

Would love everyone to hop on board with my journey as I give up so easily! It's easy to eat in secret when you're a military wife but this has to stop!

Looking forward to getting to know you all.
Andrea xx

I have but found I would sneak in extras. I know it'll work in the long run but as I have some shakes I may as well use them for a kick start! I'm hoping to stick to 1400-1500 cals a day to begin with. I'm hoping this will be enough as I'm sure I'm eating well over 2000 a day!! X

Thank you for that. It says my BMR is 1895 calories a day so I would subtract 500 calories from this to lose 1lb per week, is that right? X

Hello Andrea :wavey:

Hey!
So day 1 done and I've eaten around 1250 calories. I need to up the water intake tomorrow. Hungry now so eating a nectarine.

Hope everyone else's day has been good x

Hi Andrea! No, it's best to eat at a level between your BMR and TDEE for the best chance of losing sustainably, so I'd start off on at least 1,900. Good luck! :) xx

Thank you Tracy! Really this high though? Clearly my knowledge of weight loss is you have to starve yourself!
MFP has indicated I need to eat around 1330 to lose 2lbs per week. I'm quite confused to be honest! X

Well speaking from personal experience, ignore MFP completely, lol. Starvation is definitely not the way to go! I didn't know about BMR/TDEE when I started, but instinctively began on 2,000 a day, gradually reducing it as I lost weight. I'm now on 1,400, though only losing minute amounts now I'm half the weight I started at, lol. It's vital to be able to reduce your calories when you have a lot to lose, otherwise you'll just stall quite quickly - plus you'll get fed up of being hungry all the time! :) xx

What she said! :) Tracey is half the lady she was - literally - she definitely knows what she's talking about :)

Thank you!! You are most definitely an expert with your amazing loss!! I'll stick to around 1800-1900 and see how that goes :) x

Thank you Andrea! :)

It really is best to not limit yourself too much too soon, as you can dig yourself into a bit of a hole. Obviously I can only speak from personal experience, along with obsessive reading of this forum and watching of weight loss programmes for the last few years, but it's what seems to work best! :) xx

Thank you for all your help Tracy! Went a bit off track yesterday but am focused today. I know I need to up the water intake and start some exercise but I'm always so tired. Waiting for my hospital appointment in October for fibromyalgia but I know being overweight isn't helping. I'm hoping to get at least 7-10lbs off by then x

You're welcome, hon. :) I wouldn't worry too much about exercise if you can't manage it. I don't exercise at all due to having ME and also severe osteoarthritis in both knees, so it's all been dietary control for me. I was also told by a specialist years ago that I probably had fibromyalgia as well as the ME. I'm just a wreck, basically, lol. :D xx

Not a wreck for too much longer once you get your fab new knees! :)

Andrea - I'm on 1900 a day too hun - I don't use them all every day, but they are kind of there as a safety net, if that makes sense?
