Hello - Newbie starting on Wednesday 10/08/11

Hello everyone, my name is Ellie, I'm 28 and live close to Glasgow, Scotland. I have my pack already and I'm starting the Total Solution diet on Wednesday of this coming week.

I have around 8 stone to lose. I have never tried a VLCD before but I have calorie counted and tried Weight Watchers in the past. I did have a fair bit of success with calorie counting a few years ago but have since piled the weight back on plus some extra. I have somewhere in the region of 8 stone to lose so I'm hoping I can stick to it and finally reach my goal. I have been considering a VLCD for the past few months and have been reading up on them a fair bit and have decided it's about time I get started. I'll be reading all of your posts over the next few days to get my head "in the zone" for starting on Wednesday. I also plan to start a blog to keep me on track. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all soon. :)

There are loads of us newbies around so plenty of support while you go through the first week.

Good luck Ellie... I'm originally from near glasgow too but now just outside Edinburgh.. Good luck for Wednesday, come on here for support when you feel you need it (which is every minute for me) xx

Hi Ellie,
I'm in Glasgow so not far away! Just started on monday so there's a few of us in 'August Starters' coming up to our first Weigh In! Quite exciting to see how much we've all lost. You should come and join our crazy wee group - very supportive, chatty and just a smidge bonkers!

Yes the bonkers bit is probably right.


Good luck for the weightless. You will do fine by the way, I too needed to lose a lot of weight - I took my time but the finish is in sight now.

Welcome Ellie, good luck on your first week - you can do it and we will all be here to support :D you although you may be less sane after talking to some of us lol I have just done week 1 and it gets a lot better at around day 5 so keep strong and stick with it hun xx

Well I'm starting this tomorrow. I've just been to Morrisons and stocked up on fizzy water, peppermint tea, bouillon powder and dr pepper zero. Got some bubble bath and a magazine to help with distractions too. :)

Make sure you take some photos and your measurements as well. They will come in rather handy and can give you a little extra motivation when the scales don't appear to read what you want them to :)

Got my pack coming today, so i've just weighed myself....arghhhhhh! starting today definitely drinking water and black coffee till my pack comes and gonna figure out how to do my stats ! x

Good luck ellie, im from Glasgow also, pretend Glasgow (Giffnock) i hope you find the strength to do this, you seem to have your mind in the right pkace and that to me is the biggest hurdle. Take each day as it comes and you will achieve your goals. Before you know it you will be dancing in the streets and jumping for joy.
