Help Im really struggling

Hi, i hope ive put this in the right place. Well as the title says im really struggling, i did cambridge earlier on this year and got down to 13st 4lb, but over the summer i put on weight and went up to 14st 5lb way too heavy for my 5ft height :(

I started Slimming World 4 weeks ago, stuck to it rigidly and managed to lose 7lb, which compared to previous times on sw is not much for me, not sure if ive messed my body up doing cambridge.

Well i put 2 1/2 lbs on last week so am now 14st 1/2lb, I would really like to be 12st 9lb by middle of Jan meaning a loss of 19 1/2lb in 3ish weeks, and at the moment I am finding it really hard to believe I can do it. If I did it would mean a 3st weight loss from last Jan;)

I think I struggle so much as Ive always had a problem with my weight, going to loads of 'diet' clubs over the years since i was 11yrs old - im 40 now:eek:
So i feel now is the time to grow up and sort myself out.

I tend to start off really well on SW than start to find it harder, especially as I end up eating the same foods most of the time/ eating different from my family/ and feeling that I cant go out and socialise or have a drink as I wont lose weight. I find im thinking about food all the time and also it seems to take up so much time preparing and making food. I do wonder if it would be easier to not eat at all and do cambridge again it would def be quicker, but I feel i need to learn how to eat 'normally' I either seem to be on or off a diet all the time - 2 total extremes!

Part of me doesnt want to go back to group on tues as I know i'll put on again and cant face when my consultant goes round the group talking about how we've done - even though shes so lovely.

I dont think it helps that I suffer from depression and am liable to comfort eat, im down at the moment although keep telling myself there no real reason. I know eating better and exercise would help but its just taking that first step:rolleyes:

Sorry for all the negativity but just needed to get it all out xx

Please please dont do the Cambridge again. With S W you are eating normal good healthy food. Thats positive number 1! With S W your family can eat the same meals as you, there is no need for you to eat different meals to them. Positive number 2! Go to group and get support and info on how to approach the coming week, sounds like your consultant is very nice and approachable. Postive number 3. Pick up the amount of weight you have already lost, heavy isnt it? Positive number 4! Dont look back because you are not going that way. Positive number 5! Keep bobbing on here for support and info, we have all been there and really understand. Positive number 6! And keep telling yourself the mantra "this time I will do this, I will succeed. With S W I will succeed". Positive numbere 7. Now take a deep breath and go for it:) :) :) Hope this helps. You can pm if you want I just want to help you! Sending hugs and positive vibes your way!! x

jAs regards the time taken to prepare food, if you have time to batch cook stuff just do that and bung it in the freezer to re heat later when needed. Soups are ideal, as are casseroles, stews, chillis, spag bol sauce etc. Just takes a little thinking about! And if you dont want your consultant to mention if you have had a gain, just tell her. When you go the following week she will probably be delighted to announce a good loss for you if you stick to plan. Going to and staying to group are key for success I think. Try and pal up with others, you will find many who feel like you, and together you can take your journeys and not feel so alone! x:)

Well - take that step hun its a big one but you can do it. Positve thinking and help and support from fellow members both here and in your weekly WI. Lots dont like what i call the creeping death lol. If you dont want your consultant to come to you tell her before the meeting starts or just say pass when she comes to you. My friend text her consultant and asked her not to do it, and she hasnt. The last thing they want is to make you uncomfortable and put you off going to your class. They are there to help you in anyway they can. Please dont give up even before you start - you can do this. Give it a chance and dont forget were here for you

It certainly is - look forward not back. Planning ahead helps me - Im always thinking about what to make for meals for the next day. As Hollys Nan said try cooking in bulk for the days when your not feeling up to starting from scratch, then you can do something from the freezer and you know its still going to be SW friendly

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply xx it means a lot to know I have support and others who understand how I feel.
I'll message my consultant tomorrow, tomorrow is another dayx

Try not to focus too much on how much you want to loose by when maybe just focus on a loss every week and a mini goal maybe a stone as long as the number is decreasing I'm happy, I will get there when I get there its a long learning process changing habits and lifestyles I make one meal for us all to eat that's me hubby and my 2yr old no need for seperate meals (unless I have fish or seafood as hubby can't stand it) so I pick days when hubby isn't eating with us for that I think by giving my son same as me he will learn healthy ways automatically so he won't hopefully have the same food issues as I'm overcoming now

Pasta bakes stews casseroles shepherds pies etc are regular meals in our house because they are easy tasty and cheap to make and most I can just throw in oven and leave them for a few hrs so easy peasy
