HELP - inconsistent losses??

Hiya guys, have been doing this for a month now. had 1 lbs losses in my first 2 weeks, followed by 3.5 lbs in my third week. I thought finally, here we go!! But today, only half a pound loss. Is this a common pattern? any suggestions or tips of ways to boost weight loss consistently? xxx
