Im feelin lower and lower as the days are goin on , I know its only day 3 but im actually sat here with tears streaming down my face. I so badly want to loose this weight, Im not even wanting to eat even tho my tummy is rumbling like crazy, its no good for my diabetes. Id been gearin myself up for startin on monday for the past week and day 3 and im in pieces. Why cant I do this? Wot is wrong with me? :(

Hi Zafi,

Firstly, how about some fruit to quieten your stomach!

Secondly, don't panic, we've all been at the beginning of the diet, where it seems like it's mountain climb in front of you, but believe me, that mountain climb is acheivable.

Why don't you plan your meals for the next few days, check the internet and labels for their fat content, and you'll be surprised what you thought was good is not so good and vice versa.

How are you exercise wise? I often find now that if I'm feeling a little low, a little bit of me time, just out walking, makes me feel more motivated - I tend to have little "chats" with myself in my head as I'm walking and tell myself what I want the scales to say or what I want to look like. Currently, I'm thinking of all the things that I will be able to do on holiday this year, that I have never been able to even contemplate before.

It isn't easy, it is tough at times, but people on here will help you through those tough times, we're all in this together, your not alone.

We all have our low days so try not to worry.
Stock up on low fat snacks and plenty of fruit. Drink plenty of water, sugar free squash, tea and coffee. Try to keep busy, it takes your mind off food. Your on day three and it will get easier.
I too have a lot of weight to lose and just taking it a day at a time.

I know you have a lot of weight to loose hun, I was 20lbs heavier than you when I first started and it can be done.

I've had a bad 2 weeks, off feeling low, angry etc etc but I promise it gets better.

You need to eat, please have something. I think it benefit you to set yourself small targets, set a ticker up for just a stone, I promise seeing that slider go down, will give you a great feeling!

You cna do this, you owe it to yourself to do this and you will!

Hey hun. We all have bad days, and it's not dealing with those emotions that got is overweight. Well done posting on here and validating your feelings. My advice would be to look at your language and challenge it and also the way you are thinking because the truth is you CAN do this. Will it be easy? No. Will you make mistakes? Most definitely. But at the end of the day we are all free to chose. We can chose to keep over eating and disrespecting our body, a side effect of which is to gain weight. Or we can chose to start respecting ourselves and our bodies, eating healthy, nutritious food that gives us energy and helps up feel better and gain self-esteem. We all have choices, acknowledging them put loud
May help. Another technique i found helpful was to have a good talk to myself in the mirror. I'd remind myself why my health and body were important and why I wanted to lose weight and then reminded myself how I was going to achieve it. I know it's hard, believe me I know! but is it possible? Of course.

I have a list of things I want to do/treat myself to along my weight loss journey, the list is huge and it gets longer every day (i keep the list on my weight loss blog) anyway one of them is to get my hair cut and go blonde..

I haven't been blonde since i was 17 ish..and my hair nearly hits the bottom of my back, so you can see why this is a big deal, anyway I'm having my hair cut tomorrow and coloured next week... I wasn't going to do this til i'd lost another 5lbs, however I've been feeling like crap the last week and a half so I'm having it early... It'll make me feel better and boost my feelings towards myself...

Have you thought about doing something similar, having a treat list?... it's something else to aim for... I think next I'm going to have a fish pedicure :)

Hi Zafi,

hope you're ok. try not to get yourself too upset. you've made the hardest move which is getting yourself into the frame of mind to start dieting. you should commend yourself for this. as for not eating, in the long run, it really wont do you any good at all, you need to eat to lose weight.
come on here as often as you can. theres always someone who's felt like you feel (during good days and bad) who will listen to you and advise you.

one of my friends said to me "the weight didn't pile on overnight, and sadly it wont come off over night either, but you've made the right step". it was a reality check for me and saved me from beating myself up about it. you'll have bad days, but i'm sure there will be more good days in the long run than bad.
