    I am hoping to join LL and was wondering how you cope socially with no alcohol.:eek:

    Tilly,

    I started Lighter Life as a regular party girl, and I found it a little odd the first few times I went out, but it does get easier. The key is to not stop your social life or you will start to resent the programme. Go out, have some sparkling water and laugh at everyone else getting drunk! I certainly didn't miss the hangovers!

    LOL Tilly, I have to admit I do love my wine and to be honest I didnt miss it at all.

    You will be so focused when abstaining (If you go ahead with LL) especially when you see those pounds drop off very quickly each week.

    It is important that you dont drink once in ketosis, it will make you a poorly girl, alcohol has a lot of sugar in it and you would go out of ketosis, thus taking you another 4 days to get into it.

    You have nothing to lose but lots of weight when doing LL.

    I haven't missed it at all and there are lots of ways to excuse not having alcohol if you don't want to tell everyone what you are doing.
    I think if you are totally focused on the programme then it comes easy. January is quite a good time of year to start as generally there aren't so many social occasions happening.
    A lot has changed for me on LL and all for the better.
    I have found that worrying about a situation doesn't help at all. I worried a lot about xmas in the weeks leading up to it, but found when I got there it was actually quite easy to deal with each thing as it came at me.
    Good luck, you won't regret it if you join LL.

    Giving up alcohol was a no brainer for me because I rarely drink. Diet Coke was what was going to e hard - but I am 2 days in and I have not really suffered with it. As soon as I begin to think of something I can't have, I nip that thought right in the bud. And that helps.

    Hope you have a good info session tonight, and that you decide to give it a go. I have a feeling it may be the best thing we have ever done for ourselves! Lots of luck to you Tilly!!

    :eek: My husband just walked in and sat down with a Kit Kat bar! Cheeky sod!!! I am going to have to log off now so I can position my laptop so I don't see him!! LOL :D

    I loved my alcohol - but really don't miss it now! When I go to the pub I buy sparkling water, then put a bit of water flavouring in it. I'm not planning on going back to drinking like I used to, so I will keep doing this from now on and leave alcohol for special occasions....rather than any day with a 'y' in it!!!
