    Hi all,

some of you have probably conversed with me but now I really need someone's help. I have a cold. I'm not being dramatic but as I have two little ones to look after on my own, I need something to take the edge off.

I'm over two weeks into CD, SS. Can anyone tell me what medication I can take if any that won't affect the diet?

    Really, really appreciated.

Hi Sonya - my grandparent's doctors suggest just paracetamol for colds, they dont think that lemsip works anyway. Also get some olbas oil and do steam inhalations to help clear your nose, and throat and this will also help if you have a cough. This way you are not taking anything that could harm your cd efforts. You can have ibuprofen too i believe.

I had the lurg a few weeks into SS and took Beechams capsules and also Covonia for the cough. Covonia is meant to be a no-no as it is rammed full of sugar but I looked at it this way; would I rather lose a couple of pounds this week or get rid of the cough and rattle?

I still managed to lose 2lb that week even coupled with TOTM!

If you have some orange CD flavourings hot with a couple of paracetamol, it's a bit like a lemsip and is really comforting.

Hope you feel better shortly:hug99: I hate colds!!
