    is there a list of herbs and spices we are allowed anywhere? also are we allowed essances and oxo cubes thanks in advance

    I need to know that. I've been adding a bit of chilli or cajan pepper to my soups. Does anyone know???

    I found a list on the normal cambridge site will look for it when i get home from work

    NO ONIONS, NO GARLIC, NO GREEN ONIONS. sorry not on SS+ [​IMG]

    herbs or spices allowed? coriander, rosemary, thyme , chives, sage, fennel, white/black pepper, curry powder (limit the qty). if unsure check with your CDC, green chills (small qtys or it can kick you out of ketosis), Paprika/smoked paprika, spices if pre-mixed in a jar, check the garlic/onion/salt content. not allowed on SS+
    Cajun Spice Mix 1 tbspn black peppercorns, 1 tbsp paprika, 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon dried thyme. Grind all the ingredients together, use as a rub for chicken, tofu, quorn etc.

    Spicy Curry Mix - half teaspoon black mustard seeds, half teaspoon cumin seeds, half teaspoon crushed dried chillis, 1 and half teaspoons ground cumin, half teaspoon ground turmeric, (optional half teaspoon garam masala, contains small amount of salt so I'm not sure if its allowed.) put the mustard and cumin seeds in a hot pan til the mustard seeds have popped. Add the other spices and then use as a rub for chicken, tofu, quorn etc. by Mrs X
