Homemade fairy cakes

since its my birthday on friday i'm making fairy cakes for work, cos there is so many of us its cheaper to make them than by about 15 boxes or 6. And I though fairy cakes instead of slices as it will be easy to syn

The recipe i'm using makes 12 cakes and is 112g self raising flour, 112g butter, 112g caster sugar, 2 eggs and vanilla essence plus icing on some (leaving some plan for me, so can at least cut those syns off)

Do I have to find the syn value of each ingredient total it up and divide by12 to get the syn value of each cake?

Yay, glad to see someone still calls them "fairy cakes"!!! "Cupcakes" my eye - bloody Americanos!

Yep I think the only way to do it would be to syn every ingredient and divide by 12, sadly.

Give me something to work out tonight! And of course they are fairy cakes :)

I make it about 7 syns each

Flour 112g 18 syns
Sugar 112g 22.5 syns
Butter 112g 41 syns
Eggs Free
Essence Free?

Total = 81.5 Divided by 12 = 6.79 Syns, rounded up to 7

I was bored lol

Saved me a job later haha Thanks. 7 syns isn't too bad I guess.

didn't a cake shop get fined by the european something or other for not listing "fairies" as an ingredient in fairy cakes?! or did i dream that?

Haha I never heard that - is that true?!

By all rights they should be fining these yank wannabes for not putting any cups in their cupcakes! (and using too much icing) ;-)

Couldn't you use a sugar replacement (like splenda) to reduce the syns to 5?

My sugar addict colleagues will probably notice, but I might do that for mine.

I really wouldn't be surprised if it was true haha
