Hi all

I had done over on the Slimming world forum a thread of my recipes and evening meals with piccys.
Going to slowly build up a thread of all my Slim Fast 600 or less evening meals.

So far i am LOVING SF, and i really didn't think i would. The variety of different things you can have for 600 cals is HUGE, and feels much more free than the SW rules.

I have been getting most of my recipe ideas from the BBC Good Food website. the recipes are all calorie counted, but i have been re working them out myself, as sometimes they dont seem quite right!

I am also cooking for 3, and often 3 versions of the same meal. I am SF and a vegetarian. hubby is SF and meat eater and my house mate is needing to gain weight and meat eater. so we normally have diet veggi, diet meat and full fat meat dinners!!

Hubby was away last night and as he hates mushrooms, mate and I had a mushroom based dinner.

original recipe was here Mushroom & goat
I adapted it slightly.
I made my own pizza dough in bread maker. made 6x 100g portions. each 240 cals. (4 now in freezer for future use)
I did not use the oil removing 80 calories from the dish, and only used 30g each of goats cheese. (90 cals each)
250g mixed mushrooms (85 cals both)
garlic (5 cals both)
Used 30g of Weight watchers creme fraiche (23 cals both)
served with 125g of potatoes cut into cubes, sprayed with Frylight and cooked in oven for 30 mins (96 cals each) and a salad (30 cals each)

Total each. 515 each

Pizza dough recipe
350g bread flour (1274 cals)
1tbsp veg oil (120 cals)
1tsp yeast (13 cals)
1tsp salt (0 cals)
2tsp sugar (32 cals)
245ml water

Total cals 1439 i divided it in to 6 100g portions making each one 240 calories.

I've subscribed to this thread & think it's a great idea. I have also been a slimming work follower for years but my portion sizes were getting out of control lol! I'm only fourth day on Slim fast buy loving it so far. My hubby is starting the plan on Monday aswel x

Looks sooo good will have a go of that. I love bbc good food but dont trust most cals and re work! I have made the chicken and chorizo jambalaya a few times really nice

My hubby also jumped in the slim fast!

I am really suprised by how much i am loving the SF diet. My granddad i remember when i was a kid did Slim Fast ( going back 20 years maybe) ......... he had a shake for breakfast (and then his bowl of cornflakes) then his shake for lunch ( and his lunch) and then dinner!! and wondered why he didnt lose weight lol

That was my long term memory of SF.

Hubby is a deep sea diver, and is over weight. He is however VERY fit but the yearly diver medical just does height/weight BMI and says too high FAIL! despite he passes the physical part of step test, heart blood pressure etc. BMI is stupid, especially if you are muscular as well. Saw in a article today that they are trying to prove you can have high BMI but also be fit.

Anyway, he needs to lose couple of stone, pronto, as he cant work till he gets medical back again.

hence i thought SF might help and shake our metabolism up.

and really LOVE it. gave everyone a warning that i might be a miserable cow as i'd be starving, but have been fine. and love all the different foods.

Have tweaked it to suit me more, still have the all the same stuff in a day 1x shake 1x bar 3 x 100 cal snacks and 600 cal meal.

I have 1/2 shake and 1/2 bar for breakfast.
100 cal snack at 11am at work
lunch i have 2 x 100 cal snacks as lunch ( ww soup, cheese triangle, 2x ryvita sesame and salad)
1/2 bar mid afternoon snack
600 cal meal
1/2 shake for bed time drink

YUMMY :)

Is that calories for the whole pizza?!

YES :) I couldn't believe my eyes when my hubby found them in Tescos!
Most pizza's are per half pizza, but this was for the whole thing. ( they dont have any cheese on them) but we added some parmesan to get the cheesyness :)

Mmm they are yummy, asda fo a basic fresh one (not from counter) 600 cals not the best but the frozen goodfellas pizzas are nice to 400 cals small but like proper pizza. Tesco have Pizza Express ones aswel mmmm pizza c

French Bread Pizza

actually remembered to take a picture of them this time. They could have done with going under the grill to brown the cheese a bit, but we were starving and couldnt wait....lol

Surprisingly low in calories.

For the Pizzas i used a Weight Watchers home back petit pain roll.(111 cals) baked in oven as per instructions.
I made a tomato sauce with 1/2 small red onion. 1/2 can chopped tomatoes, 1 clove garlic and some fresh basil and oregano and a splash of Balsamic vinegar.
soften onions and garlic, add tomatoes and simmer until a thick sauce, add herbs and balsamic, and then leave to cool. (60 cals for recipe - so 20 each (3 of us))

Slice rolls in half and spread portion of sauce on.

Top with your choice of topping. and 42g of Low fat Mozzarella (73 cals)
I had Gorgonzola and the mozzarella. 30g Gorgonzola is 95 cals
hubby had 3 slices of Prosciutto split over is 30 cals a slice so 90cals)

100g of potato made in to Slimming world syn free chips (77cals) and a salad (30 ish. cals)

all comes to 400 calories :) so some left over for pudding....
