How do you get the seeds out of a pomegranate?

Hi there!

Well the title says it all really...how do you get the seeds out of a pomegranate? I tried cutting it in half and whacking it with a wooden spoon like I've seen Jamie Oliver do, but that was a bit of a disaster!

Anybody have any other tricks?

I am rubbish at doing this but my friend does it like a pro! She rolls the pomegranate on the work surface so it loosens the seeds and she squeezes it a little, she then cuts it in half and hits it with a metal spoon and they fall out easily. very messy though and she doesnt recommend wearing a white top! good luck with it x

Cut into quarters and then turn inside out! This works for me however apparently it's easier if you do it under water in a bowl - I got this from a YouTube video...

If im just eating it, i use a cocktail stick and stab/chew/stab/chew! Lol

Hope you've found a good way, I have no idea, I've always thought I could eat any fruit or veg but I have to admit pomegranate have got me, I don't mind the taste but the texture makes me feel sick :/
