How does everyone limit damage?

After a flexi syn day? Yesterday I went to a wedding, it was buffet food and apart from some spicy rice & salad, nothing was low in fat! I tried not to go too mad and had a piece of the wedding cake. Was drinking diet coke all day as I was driving. To be honest after the food I felt bloated and yuck & missed my normal food!

So, how does everyone limit the damage? Weigh in is on weds and I will be happy with a maintain, but not a gain. Plan is to eat a lot of superfree, particularly salad.

After a flexi syn day you are not supposed to try and pull things back - you just go on a normal with the usual number of syns. Part of flexi-synning is also accepting that you may gain that week so don't feel too bad if you don't lose anything. Hope you enjoyed the wedding!

I just try and chose the healthiest possible choices for each meal, and try to eat more speed/superspeed foods.
So, for example substituting beef with chicken, and less pasta and more salad etc.

I did enjoy it, it was a lovely day:) I won't feel bad if I don't lose, I just want to minimise the potential gain. Ive been 100% on plan for every day & meal this week apart from yesterday evening. Back on 100% straight away.

That sounds the perfect thing to do - 100% the next day. You enjoyed the day which was the main thing - don't let it stress you out. Remember to live and have fun as well!

A couple of weekends ago, I had a 'flex weekend' !
We went away for 4 days for a friends wedding and I ate and drunk everything I wanted.
My scales nearly broke when I stood on them when I returned home!!!!
However, the very next day, I got right back on plan and only used syns for nessecities, like gravy, Mayo etc.
Come official weigh in day, I gained 2 lbs........I was over the moon.
I had had a great weekend and 'only' gained 2 lbs which to me was absolutely worth it.

So I would just say, get straight back on plan!!!

I just make sure that I enjoy the day I have as a flexi syn day and then make sure I get right back on track the next day.

It can be really hard sometimes can't it Mini Mog!! Especially when we can't plan because we don't know what food is going to be available and when we get there there is basically NOTHING we can have and it seems that the whole of the rest of the world live on crap and we wonder how so many people HAVEN'T got a weight problem lol!! This weekend I went to London! I was so incredibly focused because after a gain last Mon I didn't want another one (WI tonight...eeekk!!) So I had a healthy breakfast and when my friend picked me up from the station she had been to Waitrose and bought us lovely food for an afternoon tea- rolls, crisps, scones, cupcakes...I just couldn't have offended her and said no to it all! Luckily I'd bought some sushi for the journey which I hadn't eaten so I was able to contribute that to the spread and then it was a case of damage limitation! Picking at a few crisps, having a small amount of bread and the cupcake but NOT the scones!! If I'm going to a wedding/birthday do and I know there's going to be a buffet I try and eat well before I go so that I'm not really hungry! And if I am let loose on the buffet I try and pick the best stuff and then move far away from the table and DO NOT socialise around it because it's there right infront of you, a recipe for disaster in itself!! X

Thanks guys, hardest thing about sat was not knowing what would be served and being absolutely starving by the time it was served- even though I'd planned and made a syn free (hea & b used) and filling meal for our lunch!

I'm lucky in that I can easily switch back into normal eating, I actually dislike eating high fat & sugar foods now as they always make me feel unwell!
