Just recently joined a gym that has a steam room, and have used it a couple of times for about 15 mins each time, so far thats about as much as i can tolerate comfortably, I'm guessing and heard a few places any weight loss that might come off will be put back on as soon as you have a drink as its mainly water that you lose, but have also heard the heat keeps your body in fat burning mode longer if taken after a workout, Can anyone advise me on how effective steam rooms are for weight loss

think you get dehydrated as you sweat out the water. you loose it initially then as you drink your body fills up again.

It isn't a real weight loss, it's water loss (dehydratation) because you basically sweat like crazy.
It's very good to detox our skin, but it doen't help weight loss.

If you enjoy the steam room keep going, it will help your skin wich is great too :)
