how many calories

I know we have discussed this before and I went on the site that worked on how many calories to have. Mine worked out at 16,00 calories if I wanted to achieve my aim of ten stone,and maintain, but I am scared of eating too much and putting the weight on. I have roughly counted my calories this week and have averaged out about 1,250 dont want to go to low, but dont want to go to high, is everyone else upping it slowly and then checking out the damage?
The site seemed to imply that it was best to do 1600 calories straight off. I am confused.

I think everyone ate lower, and then slowly upped, but if your wanting to lose weight I would stick to arround 1300, and then see if you still lose weight that way xxx

I cant really say as I haven't counted calories since before my holidays, but going roughly on what I was eating, I would imagine I am on about 1300 per day. I have lost about 5lbs since returning last Monday, but that must have been water retention.

thanks kered I think I will stick to around that and see if I lose any weight, I know I had more than that on holiday, and only put on one pound, will just have to see how it goes, just dont want to not eat enough either as this can stop you from losing eventually I hear.
