Hunger Pains.. Help?

Hello all. I am looking for advice on dealing with hunger pains.

I'm not exactly on SlimFast... but something similar called RightSize Smoothies. I like it much better than SlimFast and figured that would help in sticking to it. I've lost 3 lbs in the past week, but need help with these hunger pains.

So far, I've only replaced my lunch with the smoothies... but I find that I am not lasting from meal to meal without experiencing hunger even with snacks! What's strange is that I'll eat a lowfat yogurt for a snack before lunch and find that a half hour later, I'm hungrier than before I ate the snack. I don't understand?!

I am drinking lots of water.. and am eating gum to combat boredom eating... as well as soda cravings.. but any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

hi lightraven and welcome. well done for losing 3lbs by only swapping your lunch, thats great. i'm on slimfast and find i'm having fruit for snacks and filling up with water which helps keeps the hunger pains away. mind you i have just found pinks that are only 50 calories each so i have one and make it last by eating it very very slowly and then i've still got another one when i need it!

i think a lot of it is being active, try and do something that will take your mind of it, i'm going for decorating at the mo so even if i don't lose weight at least the house will look great lol!

Thanks sparkelwings. When I am experiencing the hunger pains... I am usually at work.. and have plenty to "keep my mind off of it".. but it doesn't help lol! I think alot about when the next time I can eat! But I have to space everything out because if I eat a snack too soon, I won't last until I get home from work, and I have a long commute... with lots of convenience stores along the way!

Don't mind my ignornace, but what are "pinks"?

hi lightraven, yeah i know what you mean, food is always on my mind too and can't wait for that evening meal!

the only way to help is to fill up on water i guess, sparkling water seems to fill me up longer for some reason or if you have grapes as a snack (30) of them space them out every 10 mins or so to make them last.

as for pinks, i'm sorry i didn't realise you were in the states, all they are is a wafer top and bottom with marshmallow in the middle, looks a bit like an icecream. you might have something similar but different name.

Hi lightraven, I know how you feel I have a big appetite so spacing out snacks etc to try and keep me going all day is hard. If i am hungry i sometimes have a milky coffee made with skimmed milk and a sweetner, it does fill you up for a while and can help to get you through till the next meal!

Also I read somewhere that when you feel hungry it means you are burning fat so I try to think of that too!!!

Wouldn't that be nice? Hey, do you remember where you read that at?

Unfortunately, I do not like Coffee... or any hot beverage for that matter. Besides, being that I have been so addicted to soda, I have been rationalizing with myself... would I rather eat my calories than drink them!

I've got the morning snack combination figured out so that I'm not completely famished by lunch. Still have to work on the afternoon combo.

good luck with your diet lightraven and don't forget to have at least 2 litres of water which will help fill you up. i too like diet drinks so i keep a bottle of sparkling water handy as it seems like you're having something naughty lol! x

Thanks Sparkel. I have been drinking about 60 oz of water a day.(not sure how that equates to a litre, I'll have to look that one up).. but hey... I used to NEVER EVER drink water.

And I guess fortunately I don't like diet soda either... can't stand the taste of aspertame... so its water for me... woo! :cry:I'm getting used to it though.
