Am I the only sad b***h on this site:D. Is Cambridge taking over your life?

Every day I get up and it's the first thing I think about. I am constantly thinking about what I will look like if I stick in and wishing my days away until next weigh in. I go to bed thinking how well (or not) I have done that day and am beginning to live my life from Wednesday to Wednesday (weigh in day). My social life is 100% on hold during my diet. I have 3 concerts coming up - Pink (28th April), Enrique Inglasias (14th May) and Take That (6th June) and I am worrying now how I am going to cope at these. Enrique is the big one becasue I arranged it with my friends for my sisters birthday. Told them I'd book a restaurant before the concern blah blah blah and now I can't do any of it.

Anyway, just wanted to know how this diet effected everyone else's life, or like I say, is it just me:confused::confused:

I was very much like that when I was on Cambridge. It consumed my every thought.

I did call it being 'sad', I called it being focused :D :D

    Hey Mia.......
I am so with you here ... and I too cant wait to get to the next wednesday for weigh-in again a little sad but its good as we are excited to see what we have achieved!!!
I also wake up in the morning and go straight on to this site.. sad I know . It used to be facebook now its this.. LOL.. I need to get out the door too.. I hog the computer at night and my husband says do you mind if I use it for a bit. and Im like OH ok .
I havent put my soical life on hold though. not that its kicking anyway with two little ones!! Gone are the clubbing days and things for me. But I do still go out socialising with friends for dinner or lunch or wherever but I just take a bar or shake with me.. It is hard but I feel good sitting there knowing its what I want and I wont cave in for anything!! Not til I get to where I want to be!!

Your doing so well hon... even if you go to concerts you can go for a meal with your friends. I cant remember if you are doing ss+ or ss but if its ss+ just go for something you are allowed.. dont let it take over your life hon...

Your doing fab and remember you are going to look fab on that beach in 2 months 3 weeks time!!!

(after reading this back I sound like a right saddo that sits here all day.. ) lol

    Keep smiling hon x

    Hi Mia,

I'm not doing CD, but can relate to the dieting taking over your life part. :(

I started dieting (this time round!) at the end of Jan 2009 and I just decided to put everything on hold until I got a good weight loss result behind me. I convinced myself that once I saw some results, I'd feel comfortable going out again.

Losing weight is really important to me at the moment. I hate to admit that I have put my social calendar on hold for now. I don't go out as often as I used to with my friends. But I also feel like I need this time for myself...to make myself happier. Yes, it is selfish. But it is something that I need to do for myself.

I am in Week 12 of my dieting journey now. There have been some times when I have slipped up, but I have gotten back to business the next day. If you went out to dinner for the Enrique concert, will you be able to pick up where you left off the next day? If so, then I'd say go out and have a great time! Just get back to it the next day. After all, life is for living. It might just take you a little bit longer to get to goal. But you will have been able to balance having a social life and dieting.

I hope you find a solution to having a life and being on a diet! When you do find it, please let me know! :D

Not taking over my life, but I have put certain aspects of life on hold. I've not had a night out, and not going on any until 6th of June. Why I hear you ask? Not because I don't think I could cope with CD whilst out, because I've done so before. Also I'm studying for exams at the moment so focused on that too. 6th June I'm going to see Derren Brown and then go out clubbing.

It because I want to go out on 6th June a stone and a half lighter, in something smaller than I'm wearing and for my friends to go "Wow!"

Only because I want that reaction.

Re planning, I don't feel its taken over my life at all. I'm on SS at the moment, so I know I have 3 shakes to drink. Only thing I do in the morning is making sure I have a tetra in my bag for lunch and filling up my own water bottles so they are room temp time I get there and easier to drink.

I really look forward to weigh ins though. Because I enjoy watching the scales go down, because I know I've stuck to it and I know I'll get a good result.

thanks for those replies ladies. All of you have excellent weight losses.

I love this diet too, becasue it works for me. I am on SS so no food at all for me and NO, I definately could not go out and have a meal and start agian next day haha :) - once I taste food that will be me finished, so best not to put temptation in the way. I do look forward to a Wednesday though but know if I only have a small loss I may be disappointed. Still ...... it's got to come off eventually.

I have been on this site for a couple of hours now.... I come on here all the time basically to motivate me and to see how well everyone is doing.... brilliantly too.

I unfortunately have a few things in the pipeline which will certainly be a challenge but I hope that I am motivated enough to focus and stay with the plan. I really really want this.

Mia you are so focused and doing really well hun ;) x

Well, think about it - meals are something that we have to attend to three times a day, so if you are on CD, then that's three CD meals you have to go and organise! And that's a lot of your day (particularly when you count choosing and preparation time). And I bet you tell all your friends how you're getting on, too - count that as 'CD time'. So yes, a lot of time is spent on CD - and what's wrong with that?! :D I'm fully aware that I've turned into a 'diet bore' - and I don't care. (Most people want to know how come I'm looking so slim anyway, and I certainly don't mind telling them! :))

If you'd come on here saying, "oh I hardly ever think about CD", then I would say that that was much more of a problem, and that your commitment looked a bit shaky! ;)

So wrap yourself in a big rosy CD glow and stop worrying about it - when the weight's gone, you can then concentrate on other things! :)

I am very 'focussed ' too...
whilst I am this 'focussed' i know I am safe and keeping on the straight and narrow.
The way I see it, this journey is not going to take forever, and enroute I am going to enjoy the scenery and make some changes in myself... that is going to take a lot of my focus!!!
OH and you girls have become important to me.... it's lovely to share a common cause with a group of people!!!

    xx

Hi Mia, I definitely don't think CD is taking over my life, I think it's kind of giving it back!!! My last 8 years, food has taken over my life, I didn't enjoy going out, I didn't like the look of me, I felt miserable because fat, much of my time was spent eating (to cheer me up cause of my size), struggling to find clothes that I liked, comparing myself to other people... Now, I'm nearly a size 12, I look good (modest too!!!!) and enjoying things more... SS I love, 3 meals that are easily made, no fuss or anything, giving up a few dinners to reach goal is SO worth it, I don't even see it as a sacrifice... 2 weeks after I started SS my baby was 1, big party, loads of food... didn't touch it, since then I've been to 2 b'days and 1 wedding, same story, not touching food, because for the first time in a VERY long time, I'm the boss, not my stomach (or my head!!!)...
In saying that, I can't wait to be able to start eating again, but only when I'm a happy size 10 and I'll try to eat better...
Good luck to all fellow slimmers...
