Its an uphill struggle!

Hi all. New to this forum but been a lurker for a while. Back on Charles Clarke diet again, 9 years after 3st weight loss . Got 2st to lose again. Noted its coming off really slow this time. 1-2lbs per week. Has anyone else had this experience with low carbing?

Was really struggling couldn't understand why. So re read my diet book an discovered I should have cut out all caffeine as it interferes with insulin production. As I'd been drinking loads of diet Pepsi felt really frustrated. So cut it out from Tuesday an lost a lb already. Also boosted my confidence by checking my all diet diarys from before. As I was convinced my weight was the same an actually discovered I'm now 3kgs less than my last weight recording in march. So feel like my motivation is really boosted again!!

Well done Jarvis, keep at it hun!!! I'm not doing low carb but I am very concious of how many carbs I eat and tend to stick to one portion a day - i'm veggie and find it easier to cut down rather than cut out. Had no idea about the caffeine/insulin thing though - good to know!

Good luck!

Thanks, really trying and feeling more motivated than in a long time. Just been to the in laws for tea. Never seen so many carbs, very proud of myself though as didn't succumbx

Yes carbs are really addictive. I've got zilch will power once the refined carbs or anything really sugary hits my mouth. I'm far better completely abstaining as get no cravings. Which is why other diets don't work for me as I feel like I'm being punished 24/7. But I love really high cocoa dark chocolate to so can't wait till I'm in the maintenance phase so I can indulge again!!
