Juju_doll's Diary - Day One - Again!

S: 21st1lb C: 15st2lb G: 11st7lb BMI: 38.8 Loss: 5st13lb(28.14%)
I've decided it's time I started a diary to help me lose the second half of my weight. So far I have lost 4 stone and 8lbs in about 4 and a half months, but have found myself slipping back in to old ways of binge eating and comfort eating. I am only 2lbs off half way and have decided that i'm not going to give up now, as I'm so much closer to my goal. So I'm going to keep a diary of my experiences from now on, in order to keep myself on the straight and narrow and continue to use the fantastic support from the Minimins folks. So here are some fascinating facts for you to get to know me better!
1) I live in sunny Thrapston, a market town in Northamptonshire.
2) I'm 26
3) I'm a primary school teacher in a private prep school, Head of English and Drama, where I teach 16 little 8 and 9 year olds.
4) I'm originally from Portsmouth.
5) I went to the Central School of Speech and Drama for 3 years before
deciding to become a teacher.
6) I haven't been this weight since I was 16 and although this diet can be hell, it bloody works.
7) My CDC Ailsa is the best you could possibly ask for, is truly inspirational and a great support to me.

So this is the beginning of the second half of my journey, please feel free to post your words of wisdom and advice.

You can do it - you can do it...

Come on girlie - you can do this - bet you've lost weight this week - you are one determined lady and I have every faith in you and then some !!!!!
Tel you what - when you come on Weds, try and lift the boy and walk about with him - cos what he weighs is what you've lost - think about it - you've already achieved wonders and are stronger than a little blip (or a bowl of Ready Brek:p )

Keep going - onwards and downwards,

Thanks for the phone call tonight Ailsa, it really helped. Have given myself a good talking to, and thought about everything you said. Tomorrow is another day and i'm going to give myself a target to lose 2 stone in the next 8 weeks. Thanks for all your advice, it's so good to know you have someone who has lived through all the crap bits of this diet, as well as the good stuff ... makes it so much more human! So new resolve and i'll keep going!

Well, have got through the morning so far! School is its usual crazyness but i'm not too hungry yet, probably still feeding off last nights binge! Am counting today as day 1 of my 8 week mission. I'm not going to use any excuse to eat over the next 8 weeks, and believe you me, I can think of plenty of excuses given the chance. So that is 56 days of will power .... well nearly 55 and a half now! Had a choc muffin this morning, but i've got to go and sit with the kids for lunch today ... let's hope it's fish!

Well day 1 of the 8 week target done and dusted, managed to stick to it, despite the call of a roasted chicken in the fridge.
Had a busy day, teaching all sorts including story endings and fractions. Did a dance routine with my Year 6s, as we're rehearsing for Joseph and the Amazing Technicoloured Dreamcoat, and have pulled a muscle in my leg! Not quite the spring chicken I think I am. Have booked a table for Sunday lunch with my mum, dad and brother for Mother's day on Sunday, but i'm determined not to eat anything. Will sip water and look virtuous! Am off down there to Portsmouth on Saturday and it will be nice to have a weekend away.

Yesterday's carb binge has been seeping out of me all day and i'm feeling rather head achy tonight. Think i'll have a nice hot shower and pop to bed! Hope everyone else has had a good day.

Hiya Julie
You've done brilliantly! You should be dead proud of your achievments and I think you can do this!!! I have faith in you, you are as determined as I am.. we can do this and will do it too!! If you ever want to meet up for a one-on-one chinwag and can face seeing an old fart like me.. lol.. then let me know and we'll sort something out one weekend or (when jobs settled) one evening!

I bet you lose weight this week too! AND.. yep.. we are SO lucky to have Ailsa aren't we!!!!!

Oooh... only 2lbs til half way!!! BRILL!!!! If not this week then next week's a dead cert!! :D Hang on in there.. you'll be a skinny minny very very soon!! By the way, hot showers and early nights are an absolute Godsend to this diet! Do it! you'll feel So much better for it in the morning. Sleep well. :D

Well, here I am on day 2 of my re-start and all is going well. Had a yummy chocolate muffin for breakfast, but rushed in to work to find half the staff are away. It seems i've spread my sickness bug around, despite being off for 3 days last week! That meant I had to do assembly this morning, which is always a little stressful at the last minute! Still, all done now, and I have a free 10 minutes to pull myself together!
I'm off to be weighed tonight, although I know it is not going to be good. My illness and consequent binges of the last week have done me no favours and i'm wondering if i'll ever get out of the 14 stones! Have decided to follow Ailsa's advice and take my scales to her house ... she is going to take them hostage. I think they are more detrimental to my progress, as my mood is so easily defined by them!

Thanks for the support Jennie. You have done so fantastically and we are indeed blessed to have Ailsa! Yes, we must definitely meet up.... this time in 2 weeks i'll be on Easter holidays and will have a lot more free time so we'll sort something then. Hopefully your work situation will have calmed down too and we can have a good chin wag!

Onwards and downwards ... reports to write:banghead: :banghead:

What an idiot ... lesson learned, you cannot binge on food without putting on weight! 4lbs of weight which I lost last week to be exact. What an idiot, still I knew it was coming and I just have to get my head down and keep going. So that is what I am planning to do.

Have got through day 2 of my re-start with no blips. Had a good chat with Ailsa about my bad week and she took my scales away. Feel quite weird without them, a little bit lost! But now i have no excuses to cheat and I'm going to stick to this till I get the weight off.

So on a positive note, I'm off to bed with determination and the happy fact there is only 2 more days till the weekend! Hoorah!

Hope you've all had a good day.

Day 3 and i'm feeling tired and run down.... being a teacher is far too much hard work today and I feel like I have an elephant sitting on my head. Ketosis had better kick in pretty soon, cos i'm hungry and cheesed off! Have one more lesson to do today and a Joseph rehearsal and then i'm off to buy cakes i'm going to pretend I baked for the comic relief cake sale tomorrow! Am going to keep them in my car tonight so that i'm not even tempted to eat one!

Please feel free to leave a comment on my thread ... am feeling a little as if i'm talking to myself at the moment and would to share tips and support.

Hi Julia,

Well done for getting back on the wagon:)

You will be back in ketosis soon and it will make it much easier.

The four pounds gain will be off soon again. You have done very well and with Ailsa as your CDC you have wonderful inspiration.

Had a bit of a land slide myself,:break_diet: I ignored the slip and went for the full monty:rolleyes: :sigh: and now I have taken my head out of the sand (more like the fridge) and now working my way down the steps and hopeful back into SSing.

At least you came on here and confessed:angeldevil:

I just went into denial:sigh:

Good idea keeping the cakes in the car:)

Hope your energy is back soon.

Neither of you ladies can hold a candle to my BLIPS - 13 Millie's cookies and counting....shamed into not eating a triple decker Baskins Robbins ice cream by my 7 year old son... I am so desperate to eat right now (day 4 of SS) that I am actually holding a tin of tuna as I type this:eek: It's not opened, I'm just holding it and telling myself constantly that I don't want it whilst reading the label over and over again - how sad am I???
I made pancakes for the boy and had to chew 8 bits of gum all the time I was cooking them just to make sure I didn't pop anything into my mouth.
Anyway - to cheer you both up let me tell you about one of my new ladies.
Yesterday was her 1st week, she stuck to the diet 100% and only lost 0.8lb!!!!! She had lost 1.5" off her waist and half an inch of both her bust and hips - in a week! So weight is not important - check your measurements!

And no, you are not getting your scales back Julia - and if I have to I will send your mugshot out to all public weighing scales with a "do not weigh this person" poster attached - you have been warned -stop with the numbers obsession:D

Off to count Cambridge stock and place another order!
Lots of love,
S: 21st1lb C: 15st2lb G: 11st7lb BMI: 38.8 Loss: 5st13lb(28.14%)
Thanks ladies, just been to Tesco, bought the cakes and put them in a tin .... and now they have gone straight in the car ... didn't even nibble the crumbs! God I feel saintly!

Thank you for the support Mini, this diet does sometimes feel like a struggle, particularly when you have a long way to go, but it seems to be just a matter of getting your head down and ploughing on ... one day at a time!

Put the tuna down Ailsa, it's gross anyway! Will try and out-do your Millies Cookies one day, just to prove I can be far more of a piggy than you .... just not for 8 weeks! Am missing my scales more and more, feel very lost without them, if you hear someone crashing through your back door in the night it will be me, breaking in to steal my scales back!

Had a very dull day today and feel completely knackered. I'm off for a shower in a bit and then i'm going to watch Comic Relief 'The Apprentice' which looks good. Then i'll need an early night, ready for all the excitement tomorrow ... thank goodness it's Friday!

Hope you've all had a good day.

What a busy day! Comic Relief day at my school and I was organising the charity events. My main job was to help my class man their charity stalls, in particular the most amazing cake stall you have ever seen! Two huge paste tables full of cakes... it was very tempting but the ketosis had really kicked in today and i didn't have a crumb. We managed to raise £550 pounds altogether though which was fantastic. The kids did really well, they organised their own things to sell and competitions like name the teddy and guess how many sweets are in the jar. They had a great time and it was good we raised so much money, but i'm fit to drop now.
So I'm having a relaxing evening tonight, watching Comic Relief and getting ready for my weekend away visiting the parents. Off down to Portsmouth tomorrow morning and looking forward to seeing my mum and dad, plus my brother will be down too and it'll be nice to catch up.

Better get on with tidying up before I start to pack ... then i can sit down in a heap. At least it keeps your mind off food!

Had a good, but busy day today. Visiting the parents at the moment in Portsmouth, so drove down here this morning. Journey was clear and easy, only about 2 and a half hours in all.
Lovely to see my mum and dad, lots of comments about my weight loss. They have been amazingly supportive.
Went for a walk down to the sea with Mum and her dog and it was lovely, great to get some fresh air and nice not to be panting my way around! Then came back and did some reports, 2 sets done out of 5 but need to get a lot more done tomorrow.
Watched car crash tv tonight, Eurovision and the dancing on Ice final and now i'm off to bed.
Have stuck to the diet and on my 4th litre of water, feeling very virtuous! Have to sit through a pub lunch tomorrow so I hope i'll wake up with iron will power tomorrow! Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Have just been out for my Mother's day meal and I ate. It was only a chicken breast and some cauliflower so i'm not too upset about it, and it is my add a meal week this week. It was probably about double the amount of chicken I should have had, but I'm sure it won't make too much of a difference. I set out with the intention of not eating anything, but I just couldn't sit in the middle of a pub restaurant eating nothing, so I went for the healthiest option. Hopefully it won't knock me out of ketosis as it was entirely protein and veg.
I am actually quite pleased with myself as I felt it was me making a healthy choice, not stuffing food from Tesco or eating McDonalds in the car on a binge.
Am just about to set off on my way home now, so will probably catch up later on.

Well, what a knackering day. Have been in a very low mood all day. Am going through a tough time as my relationship has just ended yesterday and today felt like such a low as the reality of it all sinks in.

School was very busy but not very exciting, there seems to be a fog of depression over the place at the moment. We had our Junior swimming gala this afternoon, so plenty of shouting and cheering, but I also have a stinky cold coming and felt really rough.

Still, have stuck to the diet and have not binged for a whole week now! 7 days done, 7 weeks to go. 1 more day till weigh in and I hope it will be a good one. ideally i'd like to have lost the 4lbs i put on and a bit more. Will just have to keep my fingers crossed.

Have some reports to finish off tonight, so i'd better be getting on with those i suppose. Joy oh joy!
S: 21st1lb C: 15st2lb G: 11st7lb BMI: 38.8 Loss: 5st13lb(28.14%)
Well, another Tuesday has come and gone and I've been a right miserable old cow all day. Have a stinky cold which has got worse as the day has gone on and my poor kids have taken the brunt of it! Have also got to finish my reports tonight, 24 left to go and they have to be in tomorrow, so it might be a late night again tonight! Was up until 12 last night marking English exams!

But enough of me feeling sorry for myself, I've been super good on the diet and haven't eaten anything (apart from packs, but i'm not sure they qualify as food anymore!). Plus i've drunk a good 4 litres of water today, due to my sore throat. So feeling very smug on that score! Have my weigh in tomorrow evening so we'll see how that goes. I'm hoping to have lost at least the 4 I put on, and hopefully a little bit more too. Would be nice to loose 6 lbs because that will take me over half way.

Better get back to reports, am sure i'll be back later - I am an expert in the art of procrastination!

It will have to be a quick one tonight after the late night report writing yesterday and i'm shattered. Well, I've been for my weigh in and lost 5lbs!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D
Really chuffed as it means i've shifted that extra 4lbs and a bonus pound! My aim for next week is to get in to the 13 stones so keep your fingers crossed for me! Off to glug some more water, then to bed. Night night all.
