and he said he'll do my tummy tuck.....and my thighs and my boobs!!!
(Not all at the same time, I'm having an extended tummy tuck, it goes all around your body so quite drastic but its what he thinks is needed and I agree and then my thighs and then my boob job-all on the nhs!!!!)

I am so so happy this is all I've wanted since I got near goal...he even told me I don't need to loose any more weight cos its the skin that weighs loads I don't actually have much fat left-yayayayayay!!

I started crying when I left the hospital, just out of pure relief. I was so scared that he would say I had to prove I could maintain the loss for 6 months or a year but he didn't!!!

Just have to wait for an appt with a clinical pyschologist(to make sure I'm sound minded for the op) and then I'm straight on the waiting list which is about 18 weeks......so In around 5-6 months time I will be having my tummy tuck!!!

Sorry to rant but I am the happiest girl in the world, finally all my hard work of loosing 8 stone over the last 3 years will be rewarded with my getting my confidence back(well maybe not back, not sure I ever had any!)

He even said he's going to push my physchologists appt through quicker because I'm a very deserving candidate and have worked so hard and really deserve it. Bless him, its so nice to hear someone say that.

Anyway theres my little rant over......Just had to share it with everyone and I hope it gives hope and faith to anyone else in my position!!

    LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL

Hi Princess I am so pleased for you, I know what its like when you really want something and you get it when you least expected it.

I am new to this site I saw my GP last week and asked for a gastric band and was surprised when he said he would refer me I thought I would have a struggle every step of the way. I am waiting for the PCT to meet to decide if I am a worthy candidate and I am like a cat on a hot tin roof. I want them to know the reasons why I want it which is more about my health then looking slim. I would love to know how it all works, the NHS approval that is I have 63lbs to lose and find I am eating more of late with stress worrying in case they just turn me down flat without knowing my reasons. My GP's secretary had a long chat with me and said she would add things into his letter and if they said no that he could write again. I have two friends supporting me and one saying dont get your hopes built up it may never happen. Please give me some encouragement that the NHS do pay for this op when all else fails!

Oh princess cj that's fantastic news. I'm currently waiting for a decision from my pct, in my neck of the woods they apply for funding before you even see the plastic surgeon for a consultation. I have been told though I have to maintain for a year before they will do the op even if the funding is approved.

    I'm so happy for you.

Thank you to everyone for all your kind words, I'm just so relieved.

Have faith, and keep on at them.I think I've been very lucky with my pct(move to north london everyone!!)

charliegirl try not to eat(I know its so much easier said than done when under stress, but in the long run its only more weight to loose! I would have faith, keep on at them about how important it is to you)

Have you tried the cambridge diet??

Hi no not tried the cambridge diet but most of the others. Was referred by previous GP to healthy eating meetings which explain all things in moderation and how not to eat low fat yoghurts as they leave you dissatisfied so go for a medium one that will hit the spot and stop you craving more etc etc it all made sense but whatever I do I just keep expanding....wore a top to work today that I wore a few weeks ago and its tight across the back and around my arms....I hate myself for being like this...

i have always been worried about wobbly skin after losing weight- i have managed to lose 5ish on my own but still have 4 to go...this is what im really scared about, is it likely i will have sagging skin (although i already have quite abit i don't want anymore)

I hate to say it but its more than likely, I've lost 8 stones and mine is really bad, but it does depend on genes, age etc... so I may just be unlucky but once the skin is stretched thats kind of it really, not a lot you can do!

Have you got many stretch marks?

the boobs are always a big problem for most people if you've lost a lot of weight, they end up looking like empty plastic bags-well thats what mine seem to resemble anyway!

My stretch marks all turned silver and then once I lost the weight they all crinkled up and thats whats made my skin so saggy.

Keep on at the weight loss and everytime you see your g.p for whatever reason, tell them how you're beginning to feel about your skin changing so they know in advance how you're feeling and they can see as you loose the weight that its getting worse, if they can see it for themselves then they are more likely to be sympathetic.

I'm very lucky as my g.p was once very large herself and she lost about 6 stone so I think she knew how I felt, plus shes just lovely anyway but you could always see a different g.p if you don't think your current one will play ball!

Good luck and don't give up, the quicker you get to goal, the quicker you can get on the waiting list. I'm kicking myself for not going sooner, I could have already had it done if I hadn't messed around with my weight for so long, but oh well you can't turn back time!

    xxxxx
