Looking for advice

Hi all!

I am doing slimming world and have lost 2st 2lbs in 12 weeks, I am very happy with what I have lost but my IBS has been playing up a lot and my losses are slowing right down. Would taking Xenical help my weight loss? I remember trying it years ago but I never used it right and kept getting side effects but now I know how to keep a good diet I am looking something to help me.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks.

Hi there & welcome

We have a few members who follow sw along side taking xenical. The idea is that xenical stops you absorbing 1/3 of the fat you eat so that would suggest yes. My personal experience has shown me I am still losing the same now I'm off it but it kept me on track & got me in to the right way of eating. Also be aware if your GP prescribes it there is currently a shortage which is not due to be sorted until next month at earliest. As you're already aware if you eat the fat xenical will get rid of it & not in a nice way. Good Luck with your journey x

I have been taking aloe Vera juice for a good 7/8 mths now and I finds it great for keeping me regular, not bloated etc .. But I have also read that it's good for IBS - try googling it :)

What Lexie has said is about right., good luck :)

do you know what causes your IBS? i know for me wheat is not brilliant. i know my gp said for some people tomatoes affected them badly. when i was diagnosed as diabetic i found the diabetic diet more or less sorted out my IBS which had been severe at times. i know it is different for everyone. i know i worried about the possible effects on my bowel might make it worse but have found it ok good luck. as lexie says some of us are not able to get the tablets :(

No, it just kicks in sometimes worse than others but I never really thought about what food effects it so I will keep an eye on it. Bread used to make me bloat but I don't eat bread at all now. Thanks for your message :)
