Losing Weight the only way

Hi, this is my first time on this Forum so hi to everyone....
I want to share my experience for losing weight.....I had/have a really bad sweet tooth and I am unable to have one biscuit, or one bar of chocolate etc.... I have to eat the packet or buy chocolate in two's or threes.... this was ok until I reached the dreaded 40.... Over the last few years the weight has crept on... however I reached my heaviest last June. Even though I was going on a cruise I still kept binging... I told myself (even though I was up a dress size) that I looked ok... denial I think some people call it.....
I actually caught a glimpse of myself in a door when walking to the pool on the cruise and actually did not recognisie myself..... so that was it.... I was going to go to WW the day I came back off holiday. I joined 6th July 2010... and I have to say even though I had done WW/Slimming World/Atkins etc...before for a good 3 weeks or so... I actually stuck to it this time..... by xmas I had lost 2 1/2 stone... my goal was 3 which I am now at......
Anyway, my point to this is my daughter tried all the above and could not stick to any of them so has just started Go Lower which we thought she would have to stick to and I have helped contribute to £710 for 16 week programme she was told she had to have..... she has been on it for one week and hates it... she has been ill the whole time and at the weekend came off it..... I am in the process of trying to get our money back, which does not seem likely.....
The thing that has frustrated me the most is it wasn't until she joined GL that she was able to go on the GL forums and found that she could have had a shorter programme and spent less money to see if it suited her... I am pretty annoyed choices weren't explained to her.....
Does anyone else have any experiences with GL?

Sorry for going on a bit.....
But I am very frustrating ........:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I have had no experience of this diet, but I would suggest contacting Trading Standards if you feel like it has been missold or sold using pressure tactics which it sounds as if it is the case here. Good luck, I really do hope you have some success with Trading Standards x

Thanks Ladies.....

She was told that she needed the 16 week programme, was given the price and options for paying.... if she paid the full payment she got 10% off...... It is an awfull amount of money and what I am angry about was there was no options of less weeks programmes.... there was also no mention of non-refundable......
I have phoned GL yesterday and someone is suppose to be calling me back, not had a reply so far....

Anyway, the moral to this story is, if you want to lose weight cut out rubbish and cut back on portion sizes... there are no miracle cures.....

How did you manage to do so well with your weight loss?

It's funny before I read your post, like a day before I was on the GL site thinking of ordering and then I thought to myself nahh I probably won't stick to it as per lol. I am struggling big time, if I could choose a plan and stick with it without bingeing on crappy junk foods I'd be happy!

Don't do it Lynne....

I am having a battle retrieving money from GL.... £710 gone like that.... the food is disgusting and my daughter was ill for 6 days........

Honestly Lynne, I have tried every diet... even doing ww a few times and failing... I think the reason I was able to stick to it this time and not before was I didn't set myself un-realsitic goals... I decided to lose 1Lb a week in the run up to xmas which was 24 weeks and that would be 24Lbs I could lose.... but there were weeks I lost more so by xmas I had lost 35Lbs..... the last 7 was hard I have to admit....

All these silly quick fix diets do not work and costly... my advise to you would be to give yourself a break.
Just make a few changes...i.e.. throw away your scales.....cut back on portions sizes, swap white bread & pasta for brown, limit your potatos to maybe a couple times a week and cut out rubbish, giving yourself a treat once a week... do a little bit of walking or some sort of exercise and bobs your uncle... before you know it you will feel so much better.....
