If you do want 'stodge' though how about SW chips or mash with sausages? Use a few syns on gravy and pack out with onions?

Or SW chips, eggs and beans... totally free!

Can you do yourself a big jacket potato or a bowl of pasta? Or even some SW chips with eggs or something?
It's a carb craving, satisfy it with good stuff - pig out by all means but make it free food!!!

thanks ladies - on a green day so on the right sort of day for a carb fest - going to have a big plate of sw chips with hex cheese and lots of vinegar!

Popping this thread back up, rather than opening a new one on the same topic.

I've been looking into my diaries and I've finally noticed a pattern (my menstrual cycle's been a bit all over the place due to my weight loss, Dr says it's normal enough, so it's not been totally easy to see) - in the run up to my period I turn into an eating machine. I am hungry all the time and even if I eat just sfree & free, surely that's not going to be good for my losses (and hasn't been, I usually have a teeny loss or a gain that week)... given the plan works on eating until you're full and working with the body's natural appetite, that makes sense, I suppose because the hormonal hunger is a different kind of thing, although I can't tell the difference at the time and my cycle's still off enough that I can't predict it yet, either.

does anyone else have this, and do you have any coping strategies (because the hormones also make coping with the lack of loss difficult, too :cry:).

Before class, prepare you favourite meal so that you have something to look forward to, when you get home.

Put a note in your purse/pack/bag. Just as you go to pay, read the note. Smile. Put the note away.

Get weighed. See a gain. Feel rubbish. Sit down, open your purse/pack/bag. Read the note. Maybe not smile, but don't feel so bad.

What does the note say? Well really YOUR note will be personal to you. Something along the lines of...

'So, another 'monthly' weigh in. You know that it's going to be a gain. It was last month!! However since then you have lost XXX. This month will be no different. Since starting you have lost XXX and are an inspiration to your group!!! Chin up, boobs out, breathe in and SMILE!!!!'

A couple of days before my period, I feel really hungry and I just don't feel full. I find it really difficult to control, and usually end up bingeing. The ideas on here sound good though and will definitely be trying them the next time I feel like this, SW chips and beans with HE cheese for example...yummy!! At least if I stick to free food the damage might not be so bad!

I had really bad sugar cravings this month too so I have either used my syns on chocolate and enjoyed every mouthful or just had a cup of tea with a teaspoon of sugar and synned the sugar. Sorry, I probably haven't been much help, but you're not alone in feeling like this before your period!

What a WONDERFUL idea - I love this! Thank you! I've written a postit note and stuck it in the front of my WI book so I remember for future.

It's good to know it's not just me :D. At least I've worked out what the endless hunger comes from, I suppose!


Maybe a plan of lots of bulky speed and super speed foods is the way to go? I might try that next month (in as much as I can know when it is...) Baked beans and strawberries, anyone?

Its my TOTM and on sat i was craving sweet stuff sooooo much i cooked some short grain rice in water & sweetner just so i could get sweet & stodge.
Hang in there, the cravings will pass xoxo
