Mama C - Food Diary

    I think I should post my food diary, cause I'm a tad old (its what my body keeps telling me anyway :sigh:) and my memory isn't what it used to be :D

    I want to lose weight because I have a teeny weeny bit of a health problem :rolleyes: . I have heel spurs in both feet which can be very painful when walking and I am on my feet 1/3 of the day walking to and from our large office. I have arthritis and another major health problem that I won't go into now as it is a long story, but safe to say the Drs and Nurses at the surgery say I could do with losing a bit of weight.

    Right now down to nitty gritty of things. I don't think I am doing this right. I'm on the Extra Easy plan allowing myself up to 15 syns a day (that's the good part) :D I am a very fussy eater so this will probably be my syns for the next year, as long as I can my crisps and 1 chocolate a day, I am happy :D

    HEXA - 250ml - semi-skimmed milk - HEXB - Wholemeal Bread

    Breakfast: 2 Dark Rye Ryvita's with barely a scrape of marg. along it (3 syns)

    Snack : Banana

    Dinner : Lettuce, tomato, cucumber and ham in two slices of wholemeal bread
    French fries (4 syns)
    Strawberry Mullerlight

    Snack : Apple

    Tea : Syn free SW chips, back bacon, baked beans, plum tomato's and scrambled egg

    Snack : 2 finger kit kat (5.5 syns)

    Total syns : 12.5 syns

    Well that was a big tea last night :eek: Here goes:

    HEX A: Milk HEX B : Wholemeal Bread

    Breakfast


    2 Ryvitas thinly spread with marg. (3 syns)

    Dinner

    Apple followed by 2 pieces of wholemeal bread with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and bacon (with fat trimmed off)
    French fries (4 syns)
    Strawberry Muller Light

    Tea


    SW cottage pie with broccoli

    Total syns - 7 syns

    Day 3

    I am really feeling full up now:D The beginning of the week I wasn't feeling full.

    HEX A - Milk HEX B - Wholemeal bread

    Breakfast

    2 Dark Rye Ryvitas - 3 syns

    Dinner

    Apple
    Leftover cottage pie
    1 slice of wholemeal bread
    Strawberry mullerlight (can't believe no syns!!)

    Snack

    Pear

    Tea - (when I come to do it)

    Cod fillet with breadcrumbs, SW chips and mushy peas with 1 wholemeal bread - see recipe fish and chips - 2.5 syns

    Snack

    2 finger kit kat - 5.5 syns

    Total syns - 11

    I only half my tea last night, it was too filling :D

    Today's menu

    HEX A - Milk
    HEX B - 2 Wholemeal Bread


    Breakfast:
    2 ryvita's with a scraping of marg - 3 syns

    Dinner : 3 boiled eggs with 2 wholemeal bread toasted (I cannot get enough of eggs ;))

    Tea :
    Roast Chicken, Broccoli, Peas, Cabbage, Roast Potatoes (sprayed with frylight) 2 small Yorkshire Puddings (5 syns) gravy (made with knorr stock melt, herbs and 1 tsp of gravy powder) (1 syn).

    If I am hungry later on I will either have a pear or a time out (4.5 syns).

    Total syns (including time out) - 13.5 syns

    Hi there, I am not an expert but I think the ryvitas should be counted as syns as you are having whole meal bread as your hexb. I assumed that the 3 syns that you gave counted for breakfast is for the spread?

    Good luck with your weight loss. There is lots of help and support on here.

    The 3 syns is for the ryvita (dark rye 1.5 syns each) with barely a scraping of marg. I don't count the marg. as it less than half a teaspoon.

    With the wholemeal bread - I have dried bread :D

    Busy at work today, filling a walk-in skip up with a load of old rubbish. My feet hurt :( but we filled the skip. Unfortunately we have another skip coming on Thursday to do it all over again.

    On a lighter note, pleased with my 5 and 3/4lb weight loss for week 1 :D

    Today's meals



    HEX A - Milk

    HEX B - 2 Wholemeal Bread


    Breakfast:
    2 dark rye ryvitas with just a scraping of marg. (3 syns)

    Dinner : Apple followed by
    2 pieces of wholemeal bread (HEX B) with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and ham
    French fries (4 syns)
    Strawberry Mullerlight

    Snack : Banana

    Tea :
    Paella with left over roast chicken, peppers, tin tomatoes peas and wild rice

    May have a kit kat as a reward for all the effort I put in today ;) (5.5 syns)

    Total Syns - 12.5

    Joints ache after yesterday :( but day off tomorrow :)

    Anyway, back to business

    Forgot about a snack

    Tea - Baked potato filled with tuna, light mayo (2 syns) and sweetcorn

    Snack - if I feel like it - pear/grapes and/or Blue Riband (5 syns)

    Total - 14 syns.

    Well day off to do some uni. work. Had a light day today as follows

    HEX A - 45g Mozarella - HEX B - 2 Wholemeal Bread

    Milk in tea (100ml) - 2.5 syns

    Breakfast - Pear and Apple

    Dinner - 3 boiled eggs and 2 wholemeal toasted (firm favourite, always has been)

    Tea - Pete's pizza made with smash (original) passata, 45g mozarella (hexa) onion, pepper, chicken, sweetcorn, 25g half fat grated cheese (4 syns) (had to have a cheese fix). Made smaller to share between me and the other half. SW chips. Left some of the pizza and chips as filling :D

    snack - yoghurt (if I feel like a snack)

    Total : 6 1/2 syns!!!

    Well the 2nd skip arrived, door was stuck fast, had to throw everything in :(

    Dinner - Banana, 2 wholemeal bread, ham, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, French fries (4 syns) Strawberry Muller light.

    Snack - Pear (when I got home from work about 30 mins before tea)

    Tea - 2 Nu Me 50% less fat cumberland sausages (2 syns - rather yummy), bacon, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, scrambled egg done in the microwave (it was so yummy I am having it for tomorrow nights tea as well :D) and a dab of tomato sauce (less than a tablespoon) (1 syn)

    Total - 10 syns

    Well new sofa delivered today, luxury at its best. This afternoon, I couldn't believe it.... thunder.... in January!!!!

    Menu today

    HEX A - Milk - HEX B - 2 Wholemeal bread

    Breakfast - :eek::eek: (forgot)

    Dinner - Pear, 3 soft boiled eggs with 2 wholemeal bread toasted.

    Snack - Nap (so knackered after weeks work)

    Tea - Pete's Chicken tikka curry, WW yoghurt.

    Damn no syns in my menu tonight - probably have to have a kit kat ;)

    Total syns : 5.5 syns

    I had a kit kat and a packet of french fries so total syns - 9 1/2 syns

    A luxury day... not. Daughter not behaving, tried to get an assignment done for OU and before you know it, its nightime!!

    Tea - Pork, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, peas, potatoes and 2 small yorkshire puddings (5 syns) gravy (1 syn)

    Snack WW yoghurt

    Total syns - 6

    I forgot to post what I had yesterday, basically the same but for tea chicken tikka.

    Today

    Breakfast - 2 ryvitas (3 syns)

    Snack - Apple

    Dinner - Seafood Sticks, lettuce, tomato and cucumber and 2 wholemeal bread, french fries (4 syns) mullerlight yoghurt

    Snack - Banana

    Tea - 3 NUME cumberland sausages (3 syns) mashed potatoes (fat free yoghurt instead of butter) broccoli, peas and gravy (1 syn)

    WW Yoghurt.

    Total syns - 11

    Yet again I forgot to post what I had yesterday

    Dinner - 3 eggs and 2 wholemeal bread

    Snack - Skips (4 syns)

    Tea - Goulash (made up with peppers, tomatoes, paprika, beef and to thicken the gravy - bisto - 1 syn)
    WW Yoghurt

    Snack - freddo (5 syns)

    Hopefully I will have lost - weigh in tomorrow :D
