    Hi,
Just a little question, I smoke and when I do I have a trebor extra strong mint, are these allowed or should I switch to some kind of sugar free mint? I really like my extra strong mints, can anyone recommend something allowed that is really strong?

No definitely no mints allowed sorry!! Or chewing gum - even sugar free!
The sugar containing sweets add calories and can kick you out of ketosis and chewing the sugar free gum agitates the gastric juices which are produced during digestion and this can also knock you out of ketosis!
Only safe thing to do is either rinse with strong mint mouthwash or use fresh breath spray or. . . . . .quit the cigs lol!! Hope this helps good luck : -)

From what I've been reading mints are a no-no. Listerine or NuPhar mouth strips are OK, as is Gold Spot mouth spray.

I bought some listerine strips from ebay (they don't seem to be available in the shops) for the ketosis breath I've been reading about and also have some of the gold spot spray at the ready!

What is it about the mints that may affect ketosis? I've been looking at their nutritional information and they contain less carbs that a days worth of shakes. I don't chomp through a whole pack in a day, probably about 2 packs a week, will this mean I won't get into ketosis? I've bought some ketostix but I wont be able to get my hands on them till next weekend.

It's one of these things that it's really down to you what you do. I have sugar free gum and it's not affected ketosis but remember what suits one person won't suit another :)
