    Hi There,
I don't have PCOS but I have recently had a Mirena coil fitted (mainly for contraception). I've had it nearly 3 weeks and I constantly have a bloated tummy. The worst thing is, it gives me nausea and lack of appetite. I will eat when I feel hungry but that's not as often as I normally used to feel. I eat considerably less than my boyfriend yet have put on 4.5lbs in a week compared to his 1.5lb gain :(

I hate it, it's really depressing me. Does anyone/has anyone had a similar experience? ...and maybe got over it and shed lots and lots of pounds?

    Hi there,

I had one fitted about 6 weeks ago and have gained, but my weight was heading upwards anyway....I have had lots of spotting and bizarre periods though if that helps? J

Have you had quite a lot of pain too? The pain I'm experiencing is so consistent that I've no energy to exercise... plus exercise makes it hurt more :sigh:

Had one for ages and no weight gain. My daughter and some workmates also have it but no reports of weight gain

Hi there, Thanks for your replies... I think things are looking up, I lost 3.5lb this week and the pain is vastly starting to subside. I guess, because this is my first experience with one I was panicking and worrying what with not knowing what to expect>
