    Hi all!!
i was wondering if anyone knew what the syn value would be of the tesco value or morrison value beef mince is. they do large packs for £2.00 and being on a tight budget i find buying these more financially viable for me and my family rather than upto fiver on 1 packet. i always drain the fat and then pour boiling water from the kettle on it to get as much fat out as possible. my aunt does s.w and always uses this mince as its cheaper rather than lean. ive been using it upto date to but im wondering if i carry on will it effect my weight loss. i dont mind using it and synning it as long as it isnt too many syns lol i need my chocolate fixes too ha ha

    thanks xxx:rolleyes:

Wow, that's quite scary! Must be a lot of fat (and lord knows what else!) in the value mince.

What about buying the extra lean and then bulking it our qith quorn mince, pulses or veggies to make it go further and be more economical?

sorry to put a dampener on things, but draining and rinsing the mince makes no difference it will still be syns, as alot of the fat is contained in the meat and won't come out no matter how much draining and rinsing you do. A bit like cooking a steak or bacon with fat left on, the fat is still there regardless.

If you find you are still losing weight by doing this then I don't see it as too much as a problem, but if you find your weight comes to a halt you know the first place to make changes.

Any tweaks to the plan or the advice of slimming world means you are not following 100%
