Okay I have just read a few threads where members are getting downhearted / confused over STS or Gains, First of all Juddd can in some cases mine included be a little slow off the blocks as regard to weight loss, stop thinking about weight loss just in terms of what the scales say, make sure you measure or check your 'inches' with clothes that you are hoping to fit into. I am going to tell you a little story that is completely true and I have told it many times cos its really quite extraordinary. Before I begin I must say that it has been proven that on an alternate day diet like juddd the weight you lose will be fat, not muscle or water, pure fat, which of course will show quicker on your body.
Last May my sister got married I bought a small size 16 dress (was more like a 14 measurement wise) I weighed 11 7lbs after slimming on a VLCD, the dress fitted nicely on the day and I was happy. I now weigh 12 1lb so more than I weighed last May HOWEVER I sold that dress a few weeks ago because its too BIG ! I am now physically smaller in size than I was when I weighed over 1/2 a stone less??? Sounds crazy but its true, the NSV s I have found on this diet are second to none. So before you throw in the towel just take a second look at yourself.
I know this diet isn't for everyone but the advantages are really great and I wouldn't want anyone to throw in the towel without giving it a far go and looking at the bigger picture, take care,Jo xxx

Awwww Jo that's really helped me especially and if I came across negative to anyone don't listen to me!!!!

Reading this post has made me realise how worth it this is just to have a normal relationship with food is a stop in the right direction for me

So I agree with Jo we should all put our best foot forward and carry on xxx

And I just needed a moan. I know so much about execise phsyiology and nutrition (I teach it) that I am normally blase about such things.

But every now and then I need to moan, and moan, and moan :)

I totally agree, Jo. I really think that this diet - even more than any other - simply has to be looked at in much longer terms than even week to week. I totally get why people weigh every day - I do myself - but if someone just cannot get their head around seeing wild fluctuations, then I might tentatively suggest that they switch to a different way of eating.

However, if people can just hold off and look at things over a much longer term, they *will* see results. In 4 weeks, I've lost just over 4lbs. OK, not great but I've switched from a vlcd so probably lost much more. And during that time, I've eaten lots of lovely food, socialised and had a great time! I reckon there are many more unseen health benefits too - blood sugar, cholesterol, inflammation markers etc etc. I've seen huge improvements with my running too - increasing speed and distance.

So, for anyone who may be a bit disappointed - hang in there. Keep going. Give it time.

Yep I agree , please don't think that I was suggesting that anyone was moaning as i def wasn't just wanted to give a fresh perspective on things and hopefully give a little motivation x Make sure you enjoy your UP s they are important to the actual diet but they also make it enjoyable and a longterm plan, thats just as important

Exactly looool xxxxx mwah

This is a good post and I agree, sometimes its more about losing inches. I've read a thread on here where a girl posted her stats, she is 2 stone lighter than me yet I have the same waist measurement as her, I'm shorter too? For me, its getting into that size 6/8! Not so much about the number on the scales, thats just an added bonus :)

Oh my, my post has been made a sticky  lol xx

Who said it would never happen, I knew I would be famous one day lol xx

Another NSV therefore a bit of motivation for others, I meant to post earlier but here it is x I bought a size 12 tunic type top last year it didn't fit but I will slim into it I thought, famous last words eh, anyway it never fitted last year. I was going to bed last night and I don't know what possessed me but I decided to try on some small clothes that are waiting to be worn, tried on a lovely blouse thats been too small for year, perfect , I then tried on the tunic top which was like a sausage skin when I tried it on last year despite me being lighter then it now fits and I will wear it happily yay me. This was 1t 12 o clock last night too so at my heaviest and due to sons 16th celebrations I had done 3 UP s so I am well pleased x

Congratulations on the clothes and on the sticky fame :worthy:

I havent measured since I started Juddd but now the inches are dissapearing due to my clothes, however I was measured for a bra yesterday my chest measurement (under bust) about 8 -10 weeks ago was 36, yesterday it was 34, same girl measuring me ;) Bought some new 34 D bras and they fit perfectly , I also measured the top of my arms yesterday as people have been commenting on how toned they are looking despite me not excercising and they were 11 inches, don't know what that means in the grand scale of things but when I rolled the tape to 11 inches it looked pretty small to me :D My next aim is to get into a pair of Levis that I have refused to throw out for the last 7yrs, they are a 32 waist , I was 9 and a half stone the last time I wore them, so it could be awhile before I get into them but as they say, watch this space lol x

Going to dig out the jeans tomorrow when I have more time and see how far off I am, not sure whether I will get them over my thighs yet as I am nowhere near 9 and a half stone ....yet !
