200g extra lean minced beef
½ red onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
½ tsp dried fine herbs
1 tsp vegetable stock powder
1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
Salt and freshly ground black pepper


1. Place all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine well with a wooden spoon.
2. Divide the mixture into 4 and use your hands to mould into small burger shapes, then flatten them slightly with your palms. Cover with food wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat a barbecue or grill. Cook the burgers for 10 minutes, turning them after 5 minutes until cooked through.
4. Serve with a salad of your choice, or in buns counting the extra calories!
