Hi! I was pointed in this direction so I'm here to keep track of what I eat and how much I lose. :)

I have a lot to lose - 18 st to be exact - so I'm a little tentative about whether or not Weight Watchers can help me as much as I need. But I'm willing to give it a go!

I've had some success on a low carb diet before - I lost approx. 20 lbs in about 6-7 weeks - but I need a little bit more flexibility, which is why I'm opting for the points system. I'll still be keeping to a relatively low carb diet, or at least cutting out all grains, refined sugars & processed foods, but I want some wiggle room.

I think I'm supposed to be on around 46 PP a day, but the foods I'm going to be eating are all relatively low on the points scale and I don't want to force myself to over eat or eat junk just to meet my points quota, so I'm going to aim for around 30 PP and see how I feel.

I suspect I'll be scolded by the hard liners for eating less points than recommended, but hey ho!

For the next 8 days I'll be doing a juice cleanse, just to get rid of the sluggish ugh feeling after eating an embarrassing amount of Christmassy food. But once I'm done with that, I'll jump right into pointing all my food.

I'm a total meal planner, so I've already got my post-cleanse meals all worked out. Nothing exciting - just yogurt, protein powder & fruit for breakfast, salad with eggs or chicken for lunch, and fish or chicken, sweet potato & veggies for dinner. Not exactly Michelin star level but it'll do. :)

Anyway, I hope I can keep this updated. I don't want to fail this time.

Hey subscribiing if you don't mind.

I've done ww for years, been at goal for a year or more but just recently I've had my 3rd baby so I need to get back to it. Would love to follow your diary.

I'm afraid I'm of the mind set you should use all your pp though. I think ww wouldn't give them if you didn't need them...but I won't lecture you I promise :p

I had a cup of tea this morning with sugar and semi skimmed milk for 3 PP. Not exactly juice cleanse friendly, but there's nothing better than hot tea on a cold morning, so I won't beat myself up about it too much.

Breakfast was a smoothie made from apple juice, a banana, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries & fresh ginger. I know fruit is 0 PP but I pointed it anyway, using the nutritional information from a similar shop bought version. It came out at 3 PP a serving, which is pretty good for something so filling. I'll have the same thing for lunch and then again for dinner.

Now I'm just checking emails and watching This Morning while I sip iced water, because I drastically need to increase my water intake.

If I can get through today without reaching for the biscuits, the rest of my cleanse will be smooth sailing. :)

How long are you doing a cleanse for. My sister is doing one but hers includes alot of veg juices rather than just fruit. I love a smoothie must start making them again. x

Today was a disaster! I was dragged out for lunch and ended up settling for a cheeseburger & chips. I should have opted for a salad, but... well, I didn't want to, lol.

That said, I am not going to throw my hands up in the air and declare the whole Weight Watchers experience a short lived failure like I would normally do. I'm going to write today off as a blip, learn from it, and restart my cleanse tomorrow morning.

Thanks! I made a mango, pineapple, passion fruit & ginger smoothie for breakfast. I also ate a bowl of pomegranate seeds which I was going to put into the smoothie, but I thought the crunchy part might make it gritty.

I've also got some cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, peppers, mushrooms & kale to make green smoothies. Or maybe eat them raw? Either way, they're nutritious and 0 PP. :)

They're lovely. Especially with the fresh ginger.

For lunch I had another smoothie (3 PP) but instead of juicing my veggies, I made a quick kale & mushroom stir fry with ginger, garlic, olive oil (4 PP) and soy sauce (1 PP). Oh, and some baked kale crisps!

Ok, so it's not exactly what I was aiming for in terms of a juice cleanse, but if I eliminate all processed foods & bad carbs, it essentially boils down to the same thing, which is flooding my system with nutrients to help detox and feel better over all. And I guess by eating the veggies, I'm getting the fibre too.

Does it sound like I'm making excuses? It's just that I don't want to start criticising myself for not staying on a pure juice cleanse, because if I do that I will start to feel like there's no point in carrying on at all. So, I'm just going to think of it more as a general cleanse. No processed junk or simple carbs, no alcohol, no more dairy, and plenty of fresh fruit & veggies and water.

I weighed myself this afternoon and I'm down by 1lb since I weighed myself on the 1st January. I hope the number on the scale keeps dropping.

General cleanse sounds good hon. Don't be too hard on yourself. Healthy eating and cutting out crap and processed food is never bad. :)

Try not to be too hard on yourself. I find the beginning of the year very difficult to deal with. I find that adapting WW to a lower carb, less sugar variety works better for me, carbs make me binge so I try to eat wholegrain carbs and a lot of veg and protein. Thats my way of dealing, we all have our ways.

yuck i love fruit smoothies but even the thought of veg blended makes me feel sick!

id much rather have it on a plate x

I'm not sure if today was a good day or not.

For breakfast I had a smoothie for 3 PP, which was fine. But then I went out for lunch and ended up having grilled paprika chicken, a plain baked sweet potato, garlic roasted mushrooms and kale. I checked the nutritional info and the chicken was 8 PP, the sweet potato was 6 PP and the mushrooms were 1 PP - I assume from a little bit of oil. The kale was 0 PP, obviously. So, 15 PP for lunch.

Dinner was a big plate of raw veggies for 0 PP, a soft boiled egg for 2 PP and 2tbsp of salad dressing for 3 PP.

I also ate about a tablespoon worth of peanuts which I've estimated to be 2 PP and I've drunk 2 litres of water.

Hmm. Could have been better. But could have been worse too.

I think you did very well eating out, I have a lot of trouble picking the right thing when eating out. Both December and January are terrible months for that. I don't eat out a lot but geez, these months.

Going out this weekend and having dinner out Wednesday wnd Friday.
