For those of you who have followed my arduous journey you will know that I have had trouble with my counsellor. Well this morning I had a private weigh in and meeting with her.

Before christmas she set me an unrealistic target to hit otherwise I will have to leave. I nearly hit it but didn't. She said that she would take me back as I had obviously put some sort of effort in and had lost all the weight gained and more. But I have to lose a stone in the next month no excuses or she will ask me to go.

I am a bit gobsmacked actually.
I would never do that to any of my clients.
Weight loss is the individuals choice and if you choose to eat on a SS'ing programme thats YOUR choice. If you choose to abstain thats YOUR choice. Don't be bullied by her.
Ring LL HO and see what they make of her...

I've heard of 'tough love' but that is extremely harsh....:( She is supposed to be helping and encouraging you not bullying and threatening you....:(

At the end of the day it's up to you if you do or do not stick to SSing.... it's not easy and blips can occur.. in my LL group we had a girl who through the first 100 days constantly ate and only lost around a stone.... she did carry on and suddenly something clicked and she went on to do really well..... :)

I'd be inclined to take my £66 a week elsewhere to be honest.... and if she treats all clients like this she won't be running a business for much longer either.....

As peeps have already said ss is about choice and you seem to be doing well, keep up do it just to prove her wrong xx

The only reason I can think she is being so harsh is that your constant 'wagon falling' is having a detrimental effect on the rest of the group? If this is the case, then I can see why she wants to 'sack' you for want of a better expression.

HOWEVER, I don't think she's being particularly inspiring/helpful, and I think it may be worth a call to head office to discuss, and perhaps to see if there is another LLC you could go to instead?

Yes she is being harsh but look at it this way:

Men can easily lose 2 stone a month (look at Icemoose, Mindless, Guiness Tester etc) and she is asking you to lose 1 stone which is quite manageable.

At least she is giving you the opportunity to get going or give up. Some people would just keep taking the money. I assume she is like most LLC and insists you have the full £66 worth each week?

She does seem to have the wrong personality for the job.

Blimey that does sound harsh. Aren't they there to offer support not ultimatums!(sp?) Just cos you aren't losing as quick as she/he wants you too! That's BONKERS!! I'll bet it has more to do with his/hers stats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Grrrrrrrrrr

Do you feel confident that you can lose a stone in that time? Do you want to? I don't agree with how your counsellor is working and she's definitely pushing you towards one of two ways, well 3 I suppose - you could rebel and think 'stuff you' and eat because you feel she's pushed you and pressuring you, you could eat and not lose not in rebellion but just cos you don't feel up to doing the diet now and I think that this could have an adverse pschological effect on you or you could do what she's probably hoping you'll do and stick to the diet rigidly and lose the weight. The only thing is that there's only you who knows which way you're likely to go.

I really hope that her words were solely to spur you on (if somewhat badly done) and that she doesn't actually mean that she would make you leave - is there a chance that she's done that?

Gosh, I'm shocked! Do you really think she would make you leave? I don't know if she's allowed to do that purely on these grounds, is she? It may be her way of spuring you on, but in my eyes it's a very misguided way. Do the rest of the group know she is threatening to ask you to leave?

If you're happy in the group otherwise, I'd say stick in and show her you can do it, and more if possible! She doesn't sound like a very nice person and would probably be even more encouraged about her ways to continue to do it to other people, but you'd have the weight loss. Think she definitely needs reporting. I'd be furious, and it most definitely isn't a method that would spur me on to lose weight. There's enough embarrassment and feelings of falure that come with being heavy to start with, without someone adding to these because you don't meet THEIR targets (realistic or not). I reackon you're doing fab with 3lb a week. Well done you! :)

Wishing you lots of luck.
