Ok so today was my first day on SB and I have to say I have not enjoyed it too much. I have had a really bad upset tummy :( I am not sure if its because of doing SB or whether I had a little tummy bug.

So my mealplan today was as follows, please put me right on any errors you may see as my book has not arrived yet.

    Breakfast :

    Coffee
2 egg omelet with spinach and spring onions

    Snack :

    15 walnut halves

    Lunch :

2 large portobello mushrooms filled with low fat cottage cheese and cooked in oven

    Snack :

    Radishes

    Dinner :

Homemade falafel with salad leaves, cucumber, tomato and onion

I found a recipe for flaxseed bread. It looks lovely will post the recipe

Looks good! You should probably add some protein, like cheese, to your afternoon snack and some veg to your morning snack. I'd have added some salad to lunch too. I like to eat :D

Sorry you didn't enjoy the first day, hopefully your stomach will be calmer today!

If it's fat-free cottage cheese you can count it as dairy, not cheese and also you're allowed 2 servings of cheese a day. This link gives serving sizes for nuts (they're different depending on the nut!)

SB Diet Message Boards • View topic - Phase I Foods to Enjoy - (Updated April 2008)

Oil is 1 tbsp twice a day, avocado 1/3 of an avocado and it counts as an oil. I always have a whole mini avocado, much easier than 1/3 of a big one!

    Hiya

Thanks for that info. So what size is the cheese serving? Sorry asking all this Maynie. I hope book comes soon. Does ricotta come out of cheese serving or does it come out of dairy?

My meal plans for today were :

    Breakfast :

Soy milk smoothie made with 1 tbsp of PB and vanilla low fat yog

    Snack :

Celery sticks filled with rest of PB allowance

    Lunch :

2 large boiled eggs with steamed asparagus for dipping (heaven)

    Snack :

Grilled quorn fillet with 1 cal spray on it

    Dinner :

Avocado and tofu and salad consisting of lambs lettuce, peppers, radishes, cucumber, tomato and onion

    No problem, happy to help!

I'm not actually sure how much a cheese portion is supposed to be, so I base it on roughly what slimming world allows.

Your food sounds great today. I may have to have dippy eggs with asparagus tomorrow!

I think it's just us at the minute! Hopefully we'll find more converts.

If you're starving, I'd just eat loads! There's no reason not to. I find beans and lentils really good for when I'm particularly hungry.

Thanks for tips on lentils. I did a bit more research online. Is it true I can eat till I am full the foods that are allowed obviously with restrictions on the nuts, dairy and oils? Want to clarify it as have not been putting much on my plate at all.

    Todays menu plan:

    Breakfast :

2 egg omelet with chopped avocado and spring onions

    Snack :

Soy milk smoothie with dessert spoon of PB in it and natural yog

    Lunch :

    Quorn salad

    Snack :

    Celery with PB in it

    Dinner :

Homemade falafel baked in oven with Pak Choy sauteed

Yes, you can eat till you're full. I eat loads! Just had a massive Mexican black bean thing for tea. Yum! I couldn't follow a diet where I wasn't allowed to eat as much as I want :D

That is brill to know. I had no idea. Well today has been a bad day (hangs her head in shame).... it involved a trip to see a friend and a visit to the cinema with our kids and I just was not prepared food wise. :( I am gutted. I didnt go nuts but I had a few things I should not through sheer hunger and being unprepared. Back on track tomorrow.

Ah, nightmare! Being out and hungry is one of my massive downfall areas. You can get back on track tomorrow, it can't have done much harm.

Yep I will have to be more prepared. Am out again every day this week with my son and friends and their kids so need to be prepared. Another cinema visit today with another friend so will have my lunch before I leave and will take a little pot of nuts if I feel desperate which I doubt I will.

Will be back on later to update meals. How you doing? What sort of things do you have each day? soon I will be doing phase 2 so need more tips. My book is on its way. I think it might arrive today. Hooray!

How did it go today? Yesterday I had:

    Breakfast:
3 sunflower oat ryvita with natural peanut butter
    fat-free natural yoghurt

    snack:
    apple

    Lunch:
    Spicy mexican black bean salad

    snack
    cherry tomatoes and sunflower seeds

    Dinner:
    Stir-fry

    Snack
1 sunflower oat ryvita w/ no added sugar jam
    small piece of camembert

    Today I had:

    Breakfast:
All bran, with linseeds and semi-skimmed milk

    lunch:
Spicy Mexican salad (it's soo nice)

    snack:
    cherry tomatoes and sunflower seeds

    Tea:
French peasant salad (just finished this, yummm)

I'll have a snack or two later too. Maybe rhubarb and yoghurt. I eat over the amount of nuts/seeds I should have, but I'll only cut back if it starts to affect my losses. I figure it's ok as I'm not having meat.

Hiya I agree about the nuts and seeds. I didnt write my plan out last night as I had a mad day and was shattered in the evening.

    I had :

    Breakfast :

    Scrambled eggs and a coffee

    Snack :

    Roasted chickpeas with paprika on

    Lunch :

    Quorn salad (was huge!) haha

    snack :

    More roasted chickpeas

    Dinner :

    Roasted veg and tofu

    Snack :

    30 pistachios

I really noticed the difference with having the chick peas. Much more fuller.

I wanna do phase 2. I miss fruit so much :(

Hi Mum of one - only just checked on here, not been on for a while. Sounds like you're doing really well. With regards to increasing veggies for breakfast you can use V8 juice or tomato juice. It's in the book - not sure if that's arrived for you yet.

So I was having omelette with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, ham and cheese for breakfast with a glass of veg juice. I could rarely finish it (not like me!) so like Maynie says you can eat until you are full.

Also, have a look at some of the recipes because the shepherds pie on is lovely and can be made with quorn. I added beans to everything - helps that I love them, but they are so, so filling. Mashed up, with oil and herbs they make great dips too.

    Hi everyone,

Still doing well but been awol as organising stuff at home and I have just been sooooo tired to even get the laptop out. Its been hard today as my mums bday and my friends so food was in plentiful supply. Had a few crisps! But thats all. I bypassed all the cakes and booze and choccies and picky food.

Thanks for the info watergirl. Its lovely to know there are people out there to help x

Sounds like you did well at the party! I think as long as you try to do the stuff 80% of the time it's a recipe for living, if you know what I mean. There will always be times when you don't have many options, so as long as you choose the best of the bunch!
