Need a new spooky book - any suggestions

I love reading a good book that has me slightly scared! I can't remember of the top of my head what I have read recently but could do with a few suggestions please.

Just started reading a cold season by alison littlewood. It is one of Richard and judy's books (I think). I picked it up with another book as it was buy one get one free so didn't know anything about it. I still don't know what it is about but I think it is quite spooky (the not knowing I suppose is what makes things spooky) as things are happening. It could be that it is just me, I read at night, I live in an old house that makes noises and that my husband is away at the moment!

Dunno why but for me the scariest horror writer will always be Brian Lumley. Anything he does is terrifying lol
