New And On Lipotrim...!!

Hiya...!

Just thought I'd introduce myself...! I had my gorgeous twin girls 10 months ago and have been packing on the lbs like crazy...!! I am officially heavier now than I was during my pregnancy and I've decided to do something about it! I'm 5'1 and currently weigh 13.9st and would love to get into the 9s or maybe even the 8s :D
I started on lipotrim on Monday (17/07/17) and would love some LP buddies or any motivating buddies at all lol no one around me seems to support my decision to lose the weight in this manner, however I don't believe they grasp the concept of how unhappy being obese is making me feel. Looking forward to this journey and hoping I can stick with it as I have no willpower whatsoever lol

Thank for reading!

Hey twinmum,

Congrats on the twins!

I've just started lipotrim on friday. You have started a bit before me. How is your first week going?

I'm finding the chocolate shakes ok (I don't tend to find choc flavoured stuff nice) but going back on Monday to pick up some strawberrys to take me up to Friday. I wasn't offered the vanilla for what ever reason :s

Do you have a idea how long you are going to stick to the diet?

Hiya SS!

Thank you very much :)

My first week has been absolutely awful and I can't even lie I have cheated a few times this week, it proves that I have no will power whatsoever! I was so annoyed at myself when I did cheat but then I kept telling myself a little nibble here and there won't hurt but it totally will, so today I was 100% and may just count today as my 'Official' first day lol

I usually love vanilla flavoured anything so I thought it would be the best thing to get and I might just stick with it, although I will opt for the chicken soup soon cause I have a feeling that I'm going to start craving something warm soon...! Do let me know how the strawberry ones taste :)

I would ideally like to lose 69lbs and have worked out that if I lose 3lbs a week steadily it'll take me close to six months, however... as you can tell I'm a bit of a flake so I'm going to take it day by day...!

What are your goals? I'd love to just chat in general and motivate each other if you're up for it x

As man. It's not too bad just jump back on it and try harder.

I think the chocolate could be good warm. The first time I tried it, it tasted like hot chocolate but cold. I've been wanting to throw a coffee in it to try and get it mocha style.

Think you have a good mind on how much your going to lose each week.

I've already lost a fair bit from another diet which was mostly calories in/out. But I started to stall. I'm currently 81 kg ~13.7stone and looking to goto 60-70kg but the pharmacist has told me I might only be on lipotrim for a month what I found odd. The reason she gave was because my bmi was on the boarder (bmi of 27 is the limit I think) but checking the bmi chart I would still be over weight.

Yeah chat and motivate sounds good. None of my friends are interested in shifting weight or going the gym so going at it alone atm

I've just had my second shake and definitely struggling. Especially since there's so much food around me and I've got a strong craving for tacos today :( but I won't give in, this weight needs to go...!

I might just stick to the vanilla ones for now but the chocolate ones do sound good, especially if they just taste like cold, hot chocolate lol

Yeah I think it's important to keep our expectations real, losing 10lbs a week would be ideal but I know that's not possible :p

See I think that's about silly, you should be on it for as long as you get to a healthy BMI - 23-24 sounds good to me.

Do you exercise...? My energy levels are low at the moment and the headaches are definitely kicking in, going through keto flu is no fun, but hopefully once I feel a bit better I'll try adding a little exercise into my routine :)

Haha tacos would be a good choice! I've been thinking of subway and McDonald's mcmuffins. I tend to get either one of them after dropping my girlfriend off at work, so feels wrong just driving directly home.

Yeah cheating would be bad I know with the keto diet it takes days to get back into fat burn mode after having too many carbs.

Yeah I would love it to just fall off as easily as it is to put it on.

I did go to the gym on friday and did a bit of strength training, I thought I could give my body a hand in getting rid of the stored glycogen. Im really good at not going but I'm planning on working out Monday afternoon if I don't feel too rotten.

I wouldnt worry too much about the gym tho. About 90% of your energy is used to keep you alive and the rest is daily activity so we can't make much of a impact.

Okay cravings have finally subsided lol I'm feeling positive cause I can go to bed soon...! Ah, KFC is my weakness but hey you're doing great by just driving straight past...! Keep going!

Yeah after this I know for sure it won't be worth cheating again, especially after how sluggish I felt the first time I had.

Honestly you don't even notice at first when you put the weight on... then you realise nothing in your wardrobe fits you and it hits! I refuse to by any new clothes whatsoever because I don't want to get 'comfortable' with my size.

That's good to know... plus having to chase after two crawling infants counts as my cardio I think haha

Yeah I know about the clothes thing. I blame them shrinking in the wash haha.

Yep I know what you mean with the kids. My sister has just had her third. Her other two are 4 and 2 years old and they just have so much energy they can be at 100% all day and still want to play.

My third day went well. Got a bit dizzy walking round the shops but powered thu, it's my first day doing stuff other then sitting down. Looking forward to going to bed just to get another day out the way. Back to work tomorrow what I'm not looking forward to.

How much water are you mixing with your shakes?
I've put about 750ml in mine and still comes out a bit powdery

That's true too... they definitely do shrink lol

I find that around the fourth day the dizzy spells and headaches wear off so fingers crossed you feel better tomorrow...! Is your job physically demanding?

I mix 8 ounces so about 240mls as per the instructions... why do you mix 750mls? I'd never be able to drink that much because of how horrible it tastes lol I have an electric shaker that I use so it gets rid of the lumps thankfully and I find sucking it through a straw helps but the first time I did it with a normal shaker a lump came through and it made me gag >.<

I've got my first weigh in tomorrow...! Definitely not expecting anything drastic due to my cheat days but I'm determined to do better...!

That would be good. Still getting a bit dizzy, however that could be because of the gym.
I ended up having a protein shake after working out. I can't see it being too bad as it had 1.5g of carbs in it.

Nah my job is just sitting round and programming, it's not physically demanding but can be stressful. I'm planning on working from home the next few days what should make things easier.

I've noticed today the male packs need more. I had to guess because the women gave me all the maintenance paperwork by accident. Still been using too much tho. It says to use 500ish ml for mine.

I'll have to give the straw a go. I'm sure it will last longer too.

I've picked up my strawberry ones and there great, it tastes like the strawberry nesquik if you had that as a kid.

Have you had your weigh in yet? I bet it will be better then what you think.

Okay so do you believehaving less than 20g of carbs would keep you in ketosis? See I think we could eat chicken etc but of course our calorie intake will increase there by increasing the length of time it would take to lose the weight. I do know anything above 50g of carbs would definitely take you out of ketosis but what worries me is if I eat I won't want to stop lol

I do hope working from home makes it a little easier on you and the dizziness vanishes, it's a horrible feeling!

My products came in a lipotrim bag and it has all the instructions on there; for women you mix the shakes with at least 270mls of water and for the male lipotrim it's at least 450mls which is fine because you're mixing more than that in. The reason I'm glad it's only 270 for me and I drink it with a straw is so I can down it in one go lol but it does say once you've mixed it, to make sure you drink it within 15 mins.

Ooh I don't usually like strawberry flavoured things >.< right now I just want more chicken soup but I'll have to wait a few days for that...!

Okay my weigh in... I'm not thrilled but I'm not upset about it either, I've lost 4lbs which considering I've had so many little cheats I'm actually content with...! That's 4lbs lighter than I was last week so it's good! I'm surprised I've even lost that much anyway lol so from 13.9lbs I am now 13.5lbs :) your weigh ins are on Fridays?

I think under 50g of carbs and you are still in ketosis. I know serious keto would say 10-15 and 20g carbs to start out.

However on MFP it says the male shakes have 30g of carbs most of which is sugar. I don't know if it's per shake or in total I'll have to check the book for the nutrients. But 60g of carb seems high haha.

I kinda just did the protein shake because it was quite low. 90cals , 1g carb , 0g fat , 21g pro per 25g serving (scoop). I was thinking of buying some ketostix off Amazon and see what they say after taking a protein shake.

Normally it's said that 1lb of fat is 3500cals and you split it over the week giving 500cals a day.
A chicken breast or a steak could be 200-400cals with zero carb. So you could say I'll take a day/half a day hit in losing a pound. As you say tho the temptation to eat will just get worse and picking something like a jelly sweet or crisp would likely derail it. But up to you if its worth it or not.

Working from home was ok today. Still getting light headed but tend to feel better after the shake. Not sure if it's worth putting salt in some water to see if that helps.

Ah right. I did get the right bag today. The one I got on friday was a maintenance bag and had all the info for the moose and things.

Haha do you take it like a shot then?

I wasn't offered the soup, I guess they didn't have it in stock. I've read a few times that the chicken isn't nice. So do you like it or more just tolerate it?

I wouldn't be too disheartened you did really well! You got a pound over your target and well over a quarter of the way to losing a stone. Your doing good. If you have a solid week it you might lose even more.

Yes weigh in on friday. Hopefully get to go at the same time around half 10. I've got to goto the hospital on Thursday all day so gonna have a shake in the morning and take one with me ready to mix. Which might be a challenge as I tend to do afternoon and tea time.

Another battle conquered, had to take my gf to McDonald's tonight after she got off work. Ended up getting a water xD

You got a book? All I got was the information on the bag and even then I didn't read it thoroughly lol but yes 60g definitely does sound high... I'd rather subsisture for a bowl of pasta if that was the case lol

Honestly I doubt your protein shake would've done any real harm... funnily enough I told my pharmacist about my little cheat and he said if my breath still smells I'm in ketosis and I just sat there agreeing rather than lay down the facts for him but hey if your breath still stinks you're fine! :D (Kidding btw, definitely not accurate nor scientifically backed up)

Not so much of a shot... but I do like to see how much I can drink without having to smell it. Even the smell puts me right off... oh wait... maybe like a shot then haha

I remember trying the chicken soup on the third day last week and I just wanted something warm, it tasted great to me. It just tasted like the vegetable cupasoup lol although there were lumps and that made my poor gag reflex go into overdrive >.< however i still would like at least one chicken soup a day, definitely fills you up, I struggled finishing it.

No I definitely am glad at how much I've lost and it motivates me to do better...! Thanks for the encouragement, it definitely helps :)

Do let me know what happens with your weigh in, I'm excited for you :D hospital? Hope you're okay!

McDonalds?? Oh noooo...! That must've been awful but you've done so well...! We've got this sh*t. Lol!

Sorry the maintenance is a book :) yeah as you pointed out the bag has it on. And for the guys one it is 30g of carbs per shake so 60g in a day.

Yep my breath is not great :/ I know what you mean tho it's the metallic taste thing. I think I remember reading ages ago it's the gases from your stomach that create the taste/smell.

Do you feel like you have lost any yet? I've been feeling thinner but think it's because I've just dropped all the water weight.

Yeah everything is fine. In thinking of giving my kidney to my brother so have to have a kidney function test and it takes all day.

Haha thanks, yeah we have!

Hiya...!

Yes I agree the breath thing is absolutely awful, I've also read that it stops your hair growth while you're on the diet too.

Honestly speaking, no, I feel guilty as anything due to my cheats and I think until I've had a good few weeks till I'm 100% consistent I won't be feeling like I've lost anything.

Oh wow...! Well done to you, I hope things go as smoothly as possible for you tomorrow so good luck with that, very brave :)

How's today been for you? Today by far has been the most difficult for me so far, I've got a splitting headache and the fact that my girls decided to wake up at 5am and not go back to sleep definitely didn't help so our entire routine was thrown off resulting in some very angry and fussy babies and a not so happy mama >.<

Hey sorry for not replying, i ended up goin to bed really early last night which i guess you dont want to hear xD

Im sure the consistency will come to you as you go along then suddenly you wont realise how you lost so much weight without knowing it :)

Yesterday was good thanks for asking, I think that was the first time things have calmed down and not feeling Ill. Today went well too. Just had to sit around all day, felt a bit like a pin cushion after all the blood tests and missed veins :(

5am is hard core, is you head feeling better now? I hope they are better for you tonight And let mum have some kip.

How are your food cravings holding up?

I officially suck as a human being. I have absolutely no will power. After the lack of sleep for two days straight I just couldn't keep up with the diet and I binged. Oh I binged so bad

I feel like I need the weekend to do and eat as I please and then start fresh on Monday. I feel awful but there's just a lot going on now. It may be the exhaustion speaking right now.

I'm glad you got enough sleep lol but so much for consistency on my end -_-

I'm awfully anaemic so I know what it feels like being a human pin cushion and definitely experienced it a lot during my pregnancy too...! Check ups with the specialist meant a blood test every two weeks -_-

As you can see I'm writing this response at 1:30am and my girls are still showing no signs of sleep whatsoever. If it's teething or a growth spurt it's definitely taking it out of me :(

6lbs is absolutely fantastic!! That's almost half a stone! You must be so pleased!!

Don't be so hard on your self, your fine. It's totally understandable while it's so stressful. That doesn't sound like a bad idea to recoup and start again.

I've been finding it difficult the last couple of days, when i went to the hospital I used my protein shaker for my lunch. But when I came to clean it in the evening it was glopped together and that knocked me I'll a bit. I can see why they to drink it in 15 minutes. So thats put me off a bit

I feel like the doctors just take it for the fun or store it all up in the back in one big conspiracy haha.

Oh no the teething process is always hard. Are these your first two aswell?

Yeah weigh in was good. I'm interested in what next week's one is going to be like. I doubt I'll lose as much.
