I did cambridge a long time ago and I needed to get the doctor to sign a form because I was over a certain BMI, I've wanted to try again but going back to the doctors to get a form signed put me off (they charged me £30 last time)

Anyway I heard from a friend that it might not be needed as Cambridge had changed their policies. Does anyone know the rules for getting a doctors signature?

I think they are stricter generally if you are over 40 BMI, officially you wouldn't be able to do SS on 40+ BMI anymore and therefore wouldn't need the doctors note to start at a higher step. Double check, but this is my understanding.

They have just changed the rules since the annual convention in November.

I don't believe you have to get the doctor to sign anymore.

Thanks for your responses, I wonder if they have changed the rules to match all the online vlcd that are popping up now.
I wish I could stick to slim & save but I'm always hungry on that.

I think they changed it as it puts people off having to go to the doctors and of course what they charge you i was lucky as i didnt have to pay but some people do.

I've lost my newsletter that has it in it. I can clarify with my consultant on Friday for sure though.

Spoke with my consultant today. She said you only have to sign when bmi is 49 or higher. Or if you are on a lot of medication. It's very leaniant now.
