Hello lovely people!

Firstly I would just like to say thank you to all of you for inspiring me to re-do the Cambridge Weight Plan and I feel incredibly motivated by your stories and photos. The determination and strength I've seen on here is something I will definitely be keeping in mind if I start to struggle!

i first tried CD in 2008, weighing 16st and managed to lose about a stone and a half but didn't take it seriously and soon crept up to 15st and stayed around that weight until last year when I discovered I had gone up to nearly 17 stone! This was a huge shock for me and I am desperate to do something about it as I am getting married in July!

i tried to do it the 'proper' way by restricting my calories to 1200 a day, exercise 5 times a week and get my 5 a day with lots of water but have killed myself doing this for a month and have absolutely nothing to show for it on the scales or the tape measure :-(

Following my previous success on CD (I have tried pretty much everything else including SW, WW, Celebrity Slim and Herbalife and have failed at all of them), I thought I'd give it another go.

i met my consultant today who is lovely. I weighed in at 17st 6lbs and BMI came out at 43 which means I have to start on 810 and can then elect to go on SS when I reach 16st if I want to.

if you have any tips or advice please feel free to share.

Thank you so much!

Hi Cranberrie how r u finding the diet so far? It was my first day today and I'm on stage 2, the porridge I had this morning was horrific I had to hold my nose to eat it but the soup was ok like a cuppa soup. I weighed in at 18stone 5lbs and I don't really have a target, I'd like to be a size 14 but I've always been heavy so I don't know what I'd need to weigh to be that. I also tried slimming world a few years ago and did no good at all if anything I put weight on! Do you know what they say about butter? I want to make celeriac mash and didn't know if you can out butter in it or not?

Hey Becky,

First of all well done for having the courage to start this, it's not easy and some of the products can put you off forever! I've not had the porridge before, had a small variety of shakes at the start and have now decreased that further to just the mint choc sachets, choc velvet tetras and lemon yoghurt bars and am very happy with these and my meals. If you find a couple of things you like then def just stick to them for at least the first couple of weeks!
I'm on my 15th day and have lost 11lbs so far. The first week was incredibly hard with dizziness and stomach issues (m
partly my fault for having chickpeas 6 days on the trot...!)

Butter is a huge no-no but you can use 1% fat yoghurt out of your milk allowance to make it creamier. I've been using yogurt loads, as a sauce, dip and marinade and also have had fat free Greek yoghurt for dessert the last couple of days and deliberately cut my milk down so I could allow for this.

i know what you mean about Slimming World, I lost a few lbs on it a few years ago but didn't have the time to stick to it and didn't like the fact that they promote low-fat products which aren't necessarily healthy. CWP is harder but you will see results instantly if you stick to it and the great thing about 810 is that you can still have your meal which makes you feel less like you're missing out and doesn't stop you from socialising. I've eaten out twice and had a takeaway and managed to stay on plan so it's easier than you'd think!

You'll average out at about 3lbs loss a week and after the initial 7 days hopefully you'll feel as fab as I do. Size 14 is what I'm also aiming for in time for my wedding in July. I've never been slim so will be interesting to see how we both fare on this!

Best of luck and feel free to moan and rant if you need to. Am here to support :) xxx
